It’s been more than four years since @lionel_efty and I set out on a mission to change the way domain name investors manage, market and monetize their portfolio’s. And what a ride it has been!

After a private beta with a small group of users, we decided to turn to NamePros.com in December 2014 to announce our public beta and with an open invite for anyone to sign-up and provide feedback. And feedback we got. A lot. In fact, the feedback has never stopped and it is safe to say that it is thanks to the community here that Efty transformed from our humble vision of a domain portfolio management tool into the full-fledged sales platform it is today and that we’re continuing to build for you.

Pretty much all of the new features we shipped over the past few years were build on top of the original framework that we developed for Efty back in 2014 which resulted in a somewhat bloated application that isn’t always as fast and bug-free as we like it to be and frankly, has started to look a bit tired.

That’s why we set out to completely revamp the application, streamline the menus, simplify navigation and build a responsive layout for all devices and operating systems. The result is a platform with a strong emphasis on helping you make more money, by driving more sales and better reporting.

dashboard-_-efty-edited.gif

We think it’s turning out awesome but we need some unsalted feedback before we flip the switch and roll it out to our entire userbase.

And what better place to turn for feedback than here on NamePros? The very same place we announced the first version of our platform :)

The new Efty is not just old wine in new bottles. We already incorporated a lot of feedback and delivered on a lot of the popular request posted by members in the many Efty threads on the forum.

With the new Efty, you can:
  • Create custom categories for your marketplace (yay!)
  • Rearrange the order of premium domains on your homepage
  • Remove the Make Offer form from the marketplace (for your BIN domains)
  • Get in-app notifications for new inquiries and transactions.
  • Turn on/of logos in your marketplace or For-Sale landing pages.
  • Show listings on your marketplace in chronological or alphabetical order.
  • Activate two-factor authentication for added security
  • Quickly see which of your domain names are under review.
  • Add a Privacy Policy page and place Active Consent checkboxes on your Make Offer forms.
To help us test drive the #NewEfty you sign into your Efty account via https://app.efty.com/login/
Not an Efty user yet? Feel free to sign up for a 30 day, free trial here.

And please, do let us know what you think in the comments. Did we miss something? Spotted a bug? Love it, hate it? All feedback, comments, questions, and suggestions are very much appreciated.

This is a paid post.

Sorting of domains does not work properly for me (Domains => Portfolio => Sort by extension or other column)

Anybody else can confirm this error ?

I like a lot the changes to the new Efty. I particularly like that now you can designate which domains are premium, and have them the ones that show, and drag them around to arrange the order just as you want. That one change is such a huge improvement!

Thank you!

They are working for me at app.efty.com and efty.com
When your cursor over exp/registyrar/ext it doesn't have the right finger as cursor, but function works good

Can you try with 100 rows/page ?

That is in 100 rows mode

My setup which sorts incorrectly is "Show 100 rows" and these columns showing : Domain, #inquiries, Registrar, Extension, Expiry Date (5 total)

Mine is exactly the same, I sorted each one and they all work.
I sent messages to https://blog.efty.com/customer-support/ form at bottom and got quick replies.
Get it figured out. Do they show in the same order each time you click registrar or inquiries, like if you go back and forth is it same incorrect order or different?

Have you tried to click 3 or 4 times the same column?

Well I figured it out. The sorting arrow next to the "Extension" is actually for the previous column ! (Registrar)

The same thing happens for all columns : the arrow shows very close to the next column and can mislead you.

Ok this was not an error, but the next one probably is :xf.grin:

Again under Domains => Portfolio, I put in "net" in the search box and the results are a bit puzzling.

I think I figured out why the weird results when you type something in the search box...

The system tries to match the input string against *anything* in the domain's record, even nameservers or domain category ! not just the sld or tld.

For instance, it shows an IOT domain of mine when I type "net", because the category is "Internet of Things (IoT)" !!!

Hi Doron, I have been using efty about year now. I have few issues but the main one I will talk about today is that facebook blocks my efty url (see attached screenshot).

Everytime I try to send a link to someone on facebook or making a post with it I get this message

"The content you're trying to share includes a link that our security systems detected to be unsafe:
brandotive.com
Please remove this link to continue."

Is there anything that can be done about this?

I am liking the #NewEfty spent quite a bit of time arranging things, had to edit and confirm all details for every name, in bulk edit format, because it does not auto update whois.
Was just looking for that check box, but i cant find it:cautious:

It would be nice to be able to edit Show on efty market and Premium Domain while doing bulk edit
I can't remember, some I clicked no market cause they were fresh reg, or did not want to sell at the time.
Maybe people want to change the premium domain look. All driverless/crypto

Theme picker still not alphabetical.. cannabis is between internationalized domains and gambling
made bulk edit much more difficult.

I added a category, hemp, it seems to have bumped one of my other categories off my marketplace page.
Not sure which one.. Would like to see in settings-domain category, a list of all categories. With number of domains, like marketplace, if possible.
Is 10 the maximum number of categories that show on my marketplace home page. I have more than that.
I think, can't find a way to tell how many.

Maybe USP's for INDRP and UDRP would be nice, but its not that big of a deal. USP does not have to mean unique selling point

Is there any way to update whois in bulk? As your system doesn't update whois for me, a lot of my names expire in close time frames, and without namesilo link manager would be lost.
Also, that would show me when netfirms/directnic changes nameservers to expired, as your system picks up the extra year the registrar seems to add when the name expires.
ORIGINAL REG DATE 2017-05-14
PURCHASE DATE 2017-05-14
EXPIRY 2019-05-14
REGISTRAR DNC Holdings, Inc
NAMESERVER EXPIRED-DOMAIN-NS50.DIRECTNIC.COM

To sort by expiry, this domain would appear to be active expire next year and be down at bottom of list, but it is expired. Can be confusing.
With dNS showing I see it is expired.
I hate that, for whatever reason my domain management systems pick up the extra year, after a name drops from some registrars. Above name shows 2019 expiry at other places too.

Overall, love #NewEfty couldn't live without it, maybe i could live, but quality of life would be much worse.
Makes domain management so much easier, marketplace, landing pages are very good.
Remember those slow load times, thats history (y)
I have no problemo paying for the service i receive from efty, and i have to add 30% cause of my loonie

Thanks for helping me make an informed decision based on data @Michael Cyger

Thank you @Doron Vermaat for replying quickly to emails in the middle of the night, even though it may be middle of the day where you are. Excellent customer service

@lionel_efty thank you too!

Thank you, everyone, for the continuing feedback. It's incredibly helpful.

Hi guys!

Just something I noticed, and I don't know if it's connected to the latest update. But when uploading a logo to one of the landing pages, how can that be removed if I came to change my mind?

The only option is to reupload an image.

Good point. I will see if we can add a little X to remove logos as well.

@Doron Vermaat Nice work. Will DN.com be integrated also?

I don't think we will give that high priority unless it will become a popular request. You are the first one to ask so far.

Correct, it will search all fields. This is a bit different than it was in the previous version.

I suspect a user might have been "sharing" his EftyMarket.com links a bit to aggressively across the Facebook site which might have triggered this temporary warning. There's not much we can do about that in the short term but something you can do yourself is report the link as NOT spam when you get this notice. Alternatively you can share the domain name itself (www.hug.com instead of https://eftymarket.com/hug.com for example). Visitors that click your domain name are then redirected to the SSL-secured page on EftyMarket.com

The best way to do large bulk edits is with the new Bulk Import and Update tool. It allows you to download your entire portfolio in a CSV and you can edit any fields you like, upload the file again, choose "overwrite" and the changes are made. This works for a 100 or thousands of domains at once and it includes all fields, including Premium, Efty market yes/no etc.

The marketplace only shows your top 10 categories on the homepage. So the categories that have the most domains will show on the homepage. This is done by design so this is not something you can change at the moment.

Bulk Whois updates are available in the new Efty but only for those domains that have hit the expiry date in the system. You can find those under Domains > Expired via the main navigation. Here you can select all the domains you have renewed, click Edit Selection and then click Update Whois. We are thinking about bringing bulk whois updates to the entire portfolio but there are some challenges there mainly related to cost and scalability.

Thanks again for the feedback (and the very nice, encouraging words!)

Thanks Doron but I am not sure I understand much of what you said. I dont use the eftymarket links at all, I only use my domain brandotive.com. I have never really promoted my domain on facebook before so I dont see how it can be abused or spammed. Brandotive.com already has the ssl installed so why would facebook call it unsafe, kinda defeats the purpose of the ssl.

Sorry, my bet, i didn't read your comment properly. In that case your domain name might have been flagged for spam, perhaps under the use of a previous owner? The solution remains the same, you should click the report button to tell Facebook the domain isn't spam.

Is there no 404 redirect anymore
For backlinks, indexed pages?

Sometimes FB flags posts as spam even if it's not. You have to file the appeal with the link on FB and wait til it's sorted or expired.

One more small bug to report :

When adding a domain, the purchase date and the renewal price are not auto-completed, as before.

So far so good on my end. Just one tiny problem. I use iPad pro almost exclusively and I cant drag and drop the Premium domains. Been using my Mac for that feature but it sure would be nice if it worked on iPad as well.

Otherwise, loving all the other changes and everything else is working fine so far.
