Hi guys!

Relatively new here. I was contacted by an interested buyer on a Domain I own. Originally thought it was a scam, as it followed more or less the same formula of the appraisals. However, when I refused to certify via the suggested links, he told me he is OK with a Sedo certification, and purchase via Sedo.

1) i know the buyer should be doing the certification. Is it possibly still a scam?
2) if i certify via Sedo, how do i certify? ive only seen account certifications and 99$ domain appraisals... he mentioned wanting to check for Trademark ect. Where can i find that on Sedo?
3) He offered me a very good price, however, I believe when i appraise it, it will be cheaper worth. What do i do?
3) Anything else i am missing or might be overlooking?

Any help is super appreciated. Thank you!

IMO there's no reason why a buyer would need an appraisal .

I would never pay for an appraisals myself - If I were you, I would list it at Sedo with his offers as bin and inform him - It costs nothing and then you find out if he is serious.

For potential tm issues he/you can check via Markify.com

And what were the suggested links ? Sounds very much like the appraisal scam.

Easy.

Tell him go ahead and order the sedo appraisal himself, using his own money.

Then tell him you will meet at half of his offer price to the sedo appraisal price.

So in this way, the amount less will be enough to cover the sedo appraisal price that he paid.

And you pay nothing, and get to reach at middle of his offer and sedos appraisal.

Then after that, he will not email you anymore, because he is unable to scam you, and you will remember tekz999 forever because he saved you the $99 appraisal and you will tell your sons and your grandsons what a lifesaver he is.

I actually ended up offering him to pay for the 99$ appraisal and deducting it from the sale price but he disappeared. Scam averted. Thanks!! :)
