Help finding nice affordable laptops.

Okay, currently I'm saving up money. So far I'm at $1,120 USD. I wanted to save up for a PowerBook but then I realized that a PowerBook is super expensive and would come out to a helluv a lot more money than the retail price with tax, warranty, brand new software (since right now I'm using windows) and necessary accesories.

So I was just wondering if you guys know of any nice affordable laptops to suit my budget other than Mac laptops with built in wireless. I don't really care about performance either as long as it's not like 400mhz with 64mb of ram lol. I care more about the looks of the laptop than the performance.

You'll be using windows, correct?

I would recommend buying a refurbished Dell. That's what I did. Basically, you can buy it from Dell, with all the factory testing, etc... but for a lot cheaper, b/c some of the parts may have been used before. I imagine that I saved a couple hundred bucks doing it like that.

The only bad part about my deal was that I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get network working on Linux.
