I recall that someone posted some URLs or quick links to search SEDO for all their .mobis listed for sale... does anyone know how to do this easily?

Anyone use any special search string to pull up the most results?

I'll call them tomorrow and ask but wondering if anyone knows tonight?

Thanks in advance.

no, he means when people put a link, say on here & it shows 'their' portfolio on display at sedo.
all you need to do is replace your username.
there is one i'm sure if you trawl the .mobi marketplace.
be careful though as people can access the account if not logged out, a security flaw
cheers

I know what you are talking about, but I can't figure it out atm. Adding ?cc=mobi to the end of searchresult.php4 just does the same thing the form does when you select mobi as the extension. however, it wants more info, such as date listed, keyword, etc. I'll look around later and see if I can find the old post.

SEDO link to find all owner's names listed

You can view the list of names at SEDO for a particular user (owner) and a single extension using the link format below.

1. Replace ??????? with the owner's SEDO user name ... that is the hard part to get his/her SEDO user name.
2. Replace mobi with another extension if you wish (example us)
3. Remove the double quotation marks ""....."".
4. Remove the &cc=mobi if you want to see all the names regardless of extension.

Hope this helps.

I was sure there was a way to look at ALL the .mobis for sale/listed with SEDO.
I easily grabbed the list from AFTERNIC, but having a hell of a time with SEDO.
I don't mind seeing what a particular user owns, but looking for the COMPLETE list of SEDO .mobis or at least the trick to searching SEDO for complete results.

Thanks.

anyone else?

I was trying to get that too. I wan't able to get a full list.
However, every morning I check out if there are any interesting mobi auctions by clicking in my favourites:

All Sedo's mobi auctions...

Is anyone else able to crack the sedo datbase to view all the mobi's listed with sedo??

Best I can do is all .mobi domains in a particular category -- it's the only way to get a .mobi-specific, non-auction list without entering a keyword in the search parameters. Just choose which category you want to search, and specify .mobi.

I'd love to hear if anyone figures out a way to get at all the categories at once, though!

Too many names to display at once

I guess that SEDO requires you to narrow down your search because searching for all names in one extension would generate too big of a list. to be useful for most people's purposes or maybe it would exceed the number of allowed results in their code, etc.

Out of curiosity I ran searches for .mobi names for each of the main categories and here are the results - over 47,000 .mobi names. And that was searching just "English" names, although some non-english words showed up in the results - as did English terms in a couple "Spanish" searches that I ran.

SEDO .mobi names search results ... (English only parameter specified)
Main category totals as of Feb-7-2007:

Adult - 3,565
Business/Law - 7,436
Careers/Education - 1,556
Consumer Goods - 6,864
Health - 2,141
Internet - 3,408
Leisure/Culture - 6,104
Nature - 1,212
Other - 2,642
Science - 178
Society - 2,400
Sports - 2,593
Technology - 2,060
Travel/Traffic - 5,273
-------------------------
Total names listed 47,432
("English" only)
-------------------------

The URL displayed after each search is completed does not change so I don't think you can generate a "cut and paste a link" for each search like you can with the ones where you search for one user's names as posted previously.

So the results shown above account for about 50k out of the 350k-400k .mobi names registered so far. This list will only grow.

searchresult.php may not show the parameters in the url, but it is still a form handler, so if you look at the source of the advanced search form and find anything that says name (ie, name=age) and a value for that name (ie, 90) and put it in the format searchresult.php?name=value&othername=othervalue, it will work the same as if you had just used the form.

This "trick" is more useful with afternic, since there is no way to search their sold listings with the search form. Just do a search and add &sold=1 to the url and it will apply that search to sold names only.
