Hi Everyone,

I've just joined the forum and wanted to say hello to everybody - so - :hi:

I'm afraid I'm one of those horrible newbies, that really needs to ask a couple of questions. I hate doing this, but I've found myself in a rather desparate situation, and really hope some of you kinds guys can offer some advice.

I'm in the process of writing a series of books, I haven't published the first yet, but the scope of the project is pretty large. Thinking I was being very organized and carefull, I backed the whole project [finished books, drafts for follow on books, illystrations, poems, AND the whole business idea], on my brother's computer, as well as on disk. Sounds ok so far, yeh?

Then the horror struck - he has the dreaded "blue screen of death" and can't even boot up, so that computer needs to go for repair - but we can't get in to remove my whole business project. Arghhhh.

At the momet trying to arrange copyright registration, but the big problem is I haven't bought my Domain Names yet - anyone repairing the computer and liking the idea could just pop in and buy them.

So my BIG Question to all the experts here, where would you advise a beginer to go to buy a group of associated Domain Names, looking for a fair price here, and the ability to register anonimously.
1and1, offer what seems like good prices to US clients, but living in the UK they very sweetly treble the price!!!!! Discrimination or what?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm totally frazzled and nearing hysterics :'( . Please Help.

Hi,
Thanks for the mega fast reply.

I'll check out Moniker, but I've heard terrible things about GoDaddy.

Many thanks Songbird

If you are looking to buy some related domains you can try the more popular sites ie: Sedo.com/Moniker.com/Afternic.com and Tdnam.com ....All these give you the ability to type in your keywords which will then give you related domains that are for sale.

Cheers,

Len.
P.S. welcome to Namepros. :hi:

Also look at NameCheap (Moniker pricing is better than 1&1, but you have to do some work to get it to the level most of us have.)
Also, if you have started looking for these names via whois searches (Or by typing them into the 'register' box of many registrars such as 1&1), you need to register them today. Those searches are routinely "spied" and can lead to someone else getting your names without having to have access to your computer. By them now, save yourself the heartache later (Don't believe me, search "domain taster" or "kiting" on the forum).
