When you say the Bible, I get the feeling you're excluding the Old Testament ;) .. I don't believe in the New Testament (or Old) as the infallible word of God, no.

both old and new makes up the bible. all 66 books.
if you don't believe then there's nothing to discuss.
i will always quote from the Bible.
there might be a reason you don't believe?
you suddenly don't believe in something you haven't read?
or are you a backslider?
or someone who's a Christian offended you and you got angry and suddenly you don't want to believe in the Bible?

What makes you think I haven't read it? I just don't believe it literally or that each of those 66 books were intended to be followed in a literal sense. If anything, the Pentateuch should be adhered to most of all as there is at least a tradition that it has been copied faithfully, letter by letter, since ancient times. We can't say the same with any certainty about the remaining books. And what of the Apocrypha?

im just amazed how people still reject the truth after it's been read thats all.
the bible is the whole btw old testament which carries the sacrifices of the lamb and the new testament which carries the Lord as the Lamb of God and the presentation of the Gospel.

there are writings outside the bible that disprove the bible as infallible truth which are all debatable in that case I don't wish to go further if the Bible will be debated. It needs to believed upon and accepted but not debated. If you said it yourself you don't believe it then no point for me to continue to convince an unbeliever.

i see the red sign up.

The following thread contains a subject that is potentially volatile. Debate and heated discussions are okay, but do not post any messages that are obscene, threatening, rude, or insulting. Respect your fellow members!
If you wish to opt-out of viewing potentially heated discussion threads

That's fine, William.. I don't expect you to "convert" me.. just explaining I have a different belief system.

As for rejecting the truth once read, I sincerely hope you don't accept everything as fact simply because you read it. ;) and neither do I.

it's different with the Bible, all men are liars as written, but God does not lie.
Hence it allows us to believe with trust and loyalty.

You're more experience than I am you can figure it out. I have never converted one soul in my whole life God does that.

when all things have been said and done, at the end of the day to whom do we really put our trust not to oversleep and die and hoping next day we'll be breathing again. as for me and my family we all served the Lord starting from me and my parents dad and mom, my sister and my whole family.

we all pray, speak in tongues and read the Bible night and day.

God Bless to you too and all yours. I hope this thread is not an accident at all it's God's will for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth.

I hope and pray that God will always protect you and that you will find yourself in His arms. As for the subject of Hell, The Bible will always be there on subjects of Heaven and hell, hence the Bible was mentioned by me as always.

that's Romans 8:28 you see you're quoting the Bible actually you've paraphrased it.
"
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[a] who have been called according to his purpose."

Yet, I don't need the Bible to tell me that's true.. I've seen it firsthand.

You should see my library of books.. I used to own over 10,000 (tho not so many any more).. many of them religious books of all sorts, both historical and spiritual. I even owned a copy of A Christian In Complete Armor from the year 1652 and written in Welsh. Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress is a favorite book of mine and I used to collect various copies of it.

but the Bible is the source of all that. you see some movies quoting from the Bible but won't admit that.

yeah endless search for knowledge nothing can fill that gap as said in proverbs
but all the books can be written for and against the bible can even fill the whole earth and still the Bible is the only one can satisfy.

wow 10K books, still not comparable to the Bible.

what movies haven't I admitted to??

and I don't agree that the Bible is necessarily the "source" of all that.. the epic of Gilgamesh predates the story of Noah's flood.. the link I provided above concerns a stone tablet with Hebrew text predating Jesus' resurrection which could put things in a different light historically.

not you but the movies i've watched are quoting from the bible and haven't admitted it, it's local movies in my language.

i know there are things like this they deny the bible, they won't believe the bible and finding proofs to exist to disqualify the bible as infallible even on discovery channel.

but in matters of life and death i do believe the Bible, like i said these are things/stuff/events/scientific discoveries that could lower the faith of a christian, hence it's not advisable to read. faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word as it's written.
