I think this name is along the same lines of Coffee.Club

Curious to hear other opinions on the value and the intrinsic value

Update : Close to one hundred people view this one posting everyday ... It's insane ! My intelligent responses are on page 10 & 11 but for the first 5 or 6 pages I was defending my investment for anybody who maybe curious ...

I hate to piss in your cheerios....but

Couple simple things here to point out.

1. Go ask 99.9% of any end-user about ".surgery" or even what a GTLD is and your response will most likely be "what the f-uck are you talking about"?? The end-users only care about what they know....(.com, .net, .org etc..)

2. There can be no real value assessment of any of the new GTLD's because there is not enough sales to make that market value assumption.

3. There are MANY quality GTLD's with awesome combos still available to reg....The reason they are available is simple. They are to f-ucking expensive to reg with matching renewals to go with them.

4. You found one of those "available" .surgery names and purchased it for the registration cost....

5. Congrats! You have one of the easiest domains to appraise. You bought the domain at what someone (you) was willing to pay for it.

Appraisal = $499

Good Luck.

Cool buddy you said what about half of what I already knew and the other half was what other people said but thanks for your insight and your appraisal. Not going to change the asking. Asking is 100k, wouldn't take less then 50k, just in case no one read the whole thread.

Also please show me those awesome combos you were talking about ;) I am very curious to see what you have to offer

This name is vital; it is need. Not want. If I want to find out about heart and surgeries, I would not want to go to dot com. I might have another heart attack before I can find the right page and the info I needed. Just an opinion.

In just a few min of looking....

Miami.cab
Home.contractors
NYC.school
NYC.cleaning
NYC.design
NYC.network

All of these names are available to reg, and actually have greater end-user value given the vast number of potentials you would have with promotion.

The reason they are not regged is obvious....the cost of registration.

Why ask for a FREE appraisal then argue about the responses?

Heart.Surgery is a solid word combo, but there is limited demand for new gTLD in general. It is worth what a buyer is willing to pay.

Brad
I agree the last sentence.

All you did was choose NYC. Lol hahaha

There's a bunch of eight number single digits domain with useless extensions too. Not even close, the only example you had that was okay I would say is home.contractors

So why can autism.rocks sell for 100k? :) answer that one
Global thing. Brandable. Charity. Huge number of people interested in it. Monetizable. But still a crazy price.

I don't think heart.surgery is worth nothing.. I think you might turn down a good offer because you overvalue it.

I still think that if someone is in need of heart surgery, they'll visit citynameheartsurgery.com and the end user would buy that, too. Especially for reg fee.

I haven't read half the replies, my opinion:
Excellent name, BUT generally heart surgeons are not people you woukd necessarily seek out, normally another doctor refers you to them, they don't really need to spend big bucks on a site.
Sure they generally are rich, but you may need to hang onto the domain for a long time to get a huge return.

You may get mid five figures or more, but you will need to have a lot of luck and patience and be there at the perfect time.

How will the buyer find you though when he searches straight away for heartsurgery.com?
I reckon take the 10k now, it's a 20 fold profit plenty to use on more domains. Otherwise how may renewal fees will you pay before you sell it?

There is always one person that wins the lottery....

But the odds of winning are 350,000,000 to 1.

What about 3D.Software ? Coffee.Club ? Tube.Webcam & Asia.Webcam ...
Guess they won the lottery too right ! ;) 100K still stands ! Ain't changing just like the guy offering USA.Directory. If you can't afford it move on

As many as I have too and I can afford it. Thanks for your comment. Nice to see a so so view in this thread. Does not need to be sold to a heart surgeon

The domain reads well but I'm sorry I can't see any end user in the world wanting this. Heart surgery is nearly always a matter of life and death, something people are referred for by a specialist. I'm not against new gtld's with good combinations but I'm afraid yours isn't a commercially viable one.

So why can autism.rocks sell for 100k?

Its common sense, someone obviously loved the name and had deep pockets so they bought it, the name is developed..have a look, its just one of those freak sales, it happens regularly

Zap, that Vital name can be yours for $100k. It will save your life.

The only way the name can be used is for a heart surgery informational website, and not for business. But who would make the site? It would only be about 1 page of information. We're talking heart surgery. No doctor or hospital could use the name. They're not going to name their entire hospital or practice over ONE medical "procedure". Who would name their business "Heart Surgery"?

But the odds of winning are 350,000,000 to 1.

That as because an existing charity "We Rock for Autism" had the name and sold it to a well funded charity "Autism Rocks". As the seller is non-profit charity it probably can't be considered a normal sale (even though the seller seemed to have bought it outside of the charity which is a bit odd from an accounting standpoint). While not a donation it still had a considerable portion of sales directed to the charity.

If nothing else it's an outlier and because a very wealthy charity founder really wanted it.

I really wanted pound.rocks but it was taken.

I would buy eye.surgery. Laser eye surgery is big business. But then again, who would name their business "Eye Surgery"?

Eye.surgery is way better than Heart.surgery, imho. :)
