I recently mentioned in the .Bet thread that Vladimir Putin is pushing for Primorsky Krai or Primorye Krai (both can be used interchangeably) to become the Las Vegas of the East.

Was is this move BIG? Well until recently Macau was king of Gambling worldwide. until the China Gov's crackdown of illegal activities. mainly the whisking away of China Money into Macau into it's gambling dens and also money laundering via the Chinese Jewelry shops.

Story goes that Chinese gamblers from mainland China would fly into Macau. First place they go? Not the hotel or casino but the local Jewelry Stores. where Chinese gamblers go and use their Gov Credit Card Unionpay to "supposedly" buy $10,000 pieces of jewelry but instead get $10,000 cash minus $1,000 to the shop owner. a "service fee". Needless to say this is why Macau became the King of Gambling destinations beating Las Vegas. But finally China Gov got around to raid such places. Therefore Chinese Gamblers are no longer inclined to gamble in Macau where they can't "withdraw" CNY. So what's a Chinese gambler to do?

Enter Putin's Primorsky Krai. It's a woodland area in the farthest eastern most part of Russia that opens up into the Sea of Japan. Opening it to a world of possibilities for starting a gambling destination like Las Vegas. It's market would be Japan,Korean,Russia and China and other countries in the Sea of Japan area. China being it's main target. Putin has already secured 8 land purchases for casinos in this area. One of which is already open called Tigre De Cristal.

If the Chinese Gambler has no other way to get money to gamble. Where will they go? 90 Minute flight from Beijing to Macau where you can't get CNY? or 90 minute flight from Beijing to Primorsky Krai? where would you go?

Upon opening in 2015 Tigre De Cristal it was booked solid for rooms all the way till thee end of 2016. Good or bad sign?

The name of this area was once called Primorye Krai but was changed to Primorsky Krai. But many websites including official Russian Gov websites still call this area Primorye Krai.

Vladimir Putin knows he needs to drum up some revenue for his country which is in a slump lately. This is his big move towards accomplishing that need. When an entire country is on the line will the Russian Gov relax or work even harder? That being said I think Primorsky Krai will be a success. They are set to have 2 more casinos open by 2017.

This is most TRUE. I agree. it goes without saying yes? BUT..... Putin isn't targetting Russians. he could care less. Most of his countrymen are broke. The only rich Russians are the generals and mobsters who ended up getting everything plus the kitchen sink when the Iron Curtain fell.

And these Rich Russians? they look to the west with their .com's. Businesses worldwide no matter how much love you have for your country's tld you will always succumb to the need for a .com.

So .com? for Primorye Krai? This is the "compromise" extension that the whole WORLD can relate to.

Thanks! I was lucky to get Primorye. I actually got in contact with thee owner of PrimorskyKrai.com. asked him how much he wanted and he answered a flat $15K. whoa! He was from Hong Kong so I don't know.

Anyways some info about this development.
Orginally the area was called Primorye Krai then for WHATEVER reason Putin decided to change it to Primorsky Krai.

Many websites online already call it and keep calling it Primorsky Krai. which worried me at first after registerting PrimoryeKrai.com thee original name of this area.

Not sure how "nostalgic" Russians are when it comes to the names of certain areas in Russia. But some people still call it Primorye Krai and some sites do call it that.


Other news. Lawrence Ho's success with his first opening of Tigre De Cristal was such a success that he has partnered up with thee only Korean Casino in South Korea called Kangwon Land Casino and Hotel (The only casino in South Korea where Koreans can legally gamble) to start building a $720 million dollar phase 2 expansion to the already constructed and successful $175 million dollar Tigre De Cristal which has been booked SOLID for the next 2 1/2 years.
