Have your HOST ever kicked/booted you?

I just got a new Windows Virtual Server account with WAYY more bandwidth/space than i need, i was thinking about reselling a few extra accounts to help offset the cost.

Just wondering, have anyone ever been kicked off, becasue someone you resold space to was hosting illegal stuff/warez ect.

Or any reasons.... (your fault, or not)

I wouldn't recommend trying it.

Most hosts will suspend your account and all accounts you are reselling to... It would be a great way to lose all your clients. ;)

If you're going to be allowing others to use your account, you're headed for disaster! I had an unlimited domain account and it was only a week or 2 old when I was suspended by my web host. I had added 12 domains at that point - all of which only I had access to. (I have a web site creation business on the side - and I'm the webmaster for them.) The host objected to this since they were other folks businesses (I owned the domain names) and insisted that I get a resellers account. He then said that since I was also a domain reseller which offered hosting packages, I was in direct competition with him and I couldn't have an account with them anymore! What a pile of BS! (I'd had a single domain reseller site hosted with them for over 2 years at that point.) He was right about the reseller account, (education for me!) so I found another host and signed up as a reseller. ( I checked via phone with them first and verified that what I wanted to do was OK!)

Bottom line - be careful what you do with your hosting account. It's always a good idea to check with your host first before doing something you're not sure of. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
