Have you ever hosted adult content?

After some market research, I came to a conclusion that adult sites might be very very profitable to host, but I do not know anything about adult business. Guys, could you please tell me if you have ever hosted such sites, and what problems can and will I face. What should I know and what should I do?

Also, please, name some providers who allow such type of content at their servers, because exmasters.com iss only I know. I need something to compare.. But mainly I need to know details of this business!

I've never hosted them personally, but I am familiar with some of the issues. Basically, you can have trouble with one of two things. Adult sites have the potential to eat up bandwidth quite quickly. Hotlinking can be a sub issue of this. The other problem is illegal content - stolen content, basically.

You know adult content can be legal and can be not and no one then your potential host can give the answer regarding this

I just would like to ask you: what is adult content for you what should that include etc? Because adult content is different and some files can be allowed and some of them - not.

I agree with CT, they do tend to eat up alot of bandwidth, I've only got a small adult video streaming site and the monthly bandwidth is about 300gb, growing every month as more and more people find my site.

The content is another problem, not so much the stolen stuff as much as the illegal stuff... Ive had a few people contact me concerning some stolen vids I had on my site, all you do is remove the content and in most cases thats the end of the problem. They contacted me directly, they didnt contact my host.

Im also a member of a large adult forum and this seems to be the route most content/pay site owners take, they will contact the site owner first.
