Indeed, it has already paid off handsomely. Clothing company Hanes has registered T-Shirts.store through CSC Corporate Domains during the first day.

That’s right. A hyphenated .store domain name was registered on the first day of EAP.

I think .store is going to be an interesting one to watch..

Hopefully once their sliding scale pricing model gets down to normal pricing there might still be some "gems" left. By then we would also be able to see what prices other .store domains were purchased at.... so we would know it it's worth grabbing a few hand reg's

Radix: *thank god they only want 50%*
Markmonitor: *can't wait for the next worthless gTLD to rake in the dough*

I quickly checked 5 domains and they were all registered by the owner of the brandname. That could be chance or it could be selective namepicking just to end up at the side of the discussion where you want to end up. But you're right. Ikea, Marriott, Hanes, MarcJacobs, BMW, etc etc are probably all idiot companies. Fact remains they are buying up the names, either for specific purposes or just to be on the safe side.
