Hello!

I am new to domaining, I started only few months ago. I bought about three dozens of handreg domains from Godaddy, mostly .com, few .mobi, created a website to advertise them and have tried Godaddy auctions and Ebay.
So far I've received ONE discouraging offer of $40 for barted.com (Godaddy), I've wasted money on Ebay, and Adwords has given me no results at all.

I don't really see what I am supposed to do: just wait?
Does handreg really work, as I've read on NamePros on several different posts, or is it a waste of money and time?

Also, I would like to ask you what you think about the these few domains I am particularly fond of:

solvebank.com
mp3glass.com
eputo.com
izaam.com
recay.com

Thank you. :)

Sorry mature07, I thought that it would be covered in the domaining dictionary.

Check this NamePros thread (can't post links, google it):

You are buying .mobi in 2013 ? If you want to make sales I think you'd rather do more research and focus on other extensions...

I don't really see what I am supposed to do: just wait?

solvebank means nothing
mp3 glass I don't get it either
the rest are more like brandable names but eputo sounds like puto or puta, possibly negative meanning.

What can I say, you are not alone. Everybody wants to sell but there are few domain buyers.

Handregs are okay if you intend to develop the domain. For resale purposes it's going to be difficult.

Quality > quantity.
I'm afraid nobody needs domains like yours, there is plenty of alternatives.

Rather than buy dozens of domains, just buy one or two on the aftermarket. But you need to understand what to buy, and not what not to buy.

hand-reg is when you search a domain at any registrar and the domain is "available to register".

if you add it to your cart and are able to purchase it, then you have "hand-regged" a domain name.

but the domain game, ain't that simple

you gotta know "WHAT TYPE" of domain to register

you can't just register any "off the top of your head" mixed group of characters, letters and or hyphens, and think someone will want to buy that crap.

there must be a viable usage, biz model, concept, idea or something for that domain name to have value, other than you've just "hand-regged" it and put it up for sale.

READ thru some of the domain for sale threads going back 5 > 8 years, understand the history of how "categories" of domains achieved their current values.

imo...

None of your domains make any actual sense, no offense of course. You can try sell them as low as possible, gather some money and buy one or two decent domains so you can start your domain exchange program;)

As others have said, those domains are basically worthless. As are most hand-reg domains. You definitely should not have regged any .mobi's. Noobs should always stick with .com's. You definitely need to understand what makes a domain valuable before you buy/reg any more domains. For example: Why is Mortgage.com valuable and mp3glass.com worthless? Having said all that, you could try to list the last three and barted.com on either BrandBucket.com or Nameriffic.com.

Depending on what kind of time or money you want to invest in this process, hobby or business will probably determine your strategy.

As for me and hand regging, I go to the available lists on here as well as review lists I've come up with. I only register names when $2 or less coupon codes are available, that I see. That happens about 1-2 a month. That costs me about $24-30 a year in new regs.

Most of what I do is develop into blogs and websites to make money that way. This is still a wide open strategy, that although requires hard work, not prohibitive. Those that I don't develop I will try to sell or drop. Lately, all of my sales have been in the $xx range. It kind of sucks but it's more than I paid and my websites more than make up the money.

For me, it's about being diversified. However you decide to do it, do not rely on one sole strategy.

Thank you for the advice and ideas guys, I appreciate it a lot. I wanted to make some money but treat the whole thing as a hobby.

Hopkism I didn't know about the coupons, I'm thinking of the money I wasted. Well mistakes come with a price.

Thanks for the idea Stub, I'll try that, but about barted.com: I received a $200 offer for it after I counter-offered for 450. Should I accept it?

Yes I would because it halves your losses but still 100% lesson learned.

Don't worry alex, its a learning stage, and you just got the first lesson right, disappointment. I have also registered domain names before and the most stupid thing is I don't even bother to sell them for a dollar add the fact that I didn't use any discount codes, because I haven't knew namepros that time yet.
Now, I am happy the way my hand picked domains and hand reg, and they usually increase their revenue through parking. Reading, asking, what do you havein mind will give you more room in finding the right domains to buy, Stub, Eric, Mitch, and most of the guys here are willing to help and listen to all your inquiries, read the rest of the thread and you will definitely learn a lot.

most importantly, don't get too excited to registered domains without using the discount codes, $.99, 1,2,3 dollars is a big savings compare to $12 dollar registration fees unless the name is super premium.

again, IF IN DOUBT ASK.

I should have joined Namepros sooner. I should have learned a lot from you guys. Thanks for all those valuable ideas and expertise. It enhances my knowledge about this domain name business. I'm sure other newbies would greatly appreciate this too.
