Yet again I do feel myself standing up for lowballers. Ask yourself why you should pay more than the seller wants. If you have no concept of what the seller wants start at the bottom and work up, not the top and work down.

As a seller you have two options:
1) Set a minimum asking prices
2) Invite offers, but do not be surprised or offended when low offers come in.

This is not a criticism of this thread, just a general reminder. :)

i'm not taken this as criticism. and they all may offer what they want.
and maybe when he offered 90 pound i would take it, but i'm not in a hurry to sell this name, therefor i counter offered so high.

If "Mickeysoft" is so cheap that they will take time to actually go to Sedo and place a low-ball offer on a TM-infringing name, then Zune is destined to fail. In all likelihood, it wasn't them. If they get an itch for eZune.com, they will simply dispute your registration and/or sue you for it. ;)

No harm with lowballers, and therefore no harm in highballing back.

However, posting details regarding your negotiation - not as keen. What if microsoft or someone else was willing to pay more than $6k, googles the name, and you've tipped your hat.

Or a million and one other problems with posting details such as this (Think MSFT might need some ready evidence that you are looking to sell for xyz price?). Just my .02, of course.

Agreed. And some people apply their own cultural aspects of commerce onto transactions as well. That doesn't hold true all the time but we must remember some people thrive on getting a deal. Don't take a lowball personal or as an insult to your domain - it's just business. Retort with your counter-offer and see what happens. Better some interest than no interest at all - and considering it is a TM issue name you never know when microsoft may come looking for it for free.

Ok... I see folks speed, do coke, lie on taxes, and a 1,000,001 other illegal things every day - so does that mean it's right?

Not drawing a comparison between those actions and bidding/selling a TM issue domain, but merely trying to point out that just because you can find others engaging in some practice does not indicate the morality or lack thereof of a certain action.

a very true point; one of the reason i hate TMers - almost as much as I hate warez sites!

lowball offer is better than no offers.

Well I've come to accept that we will all get low offers on our names. Think about it, it's very nice that someone was interested enough to take the time to make the offer and also it looks good when you have bids. :)
