GreatDomain Rejections - But Sold ANYWAY

I would like to start a thread for all those who have been rejected by GD and sold the name that was rejected. If you have please state the name that was rejected that you subsequently sold elsewhere or on your own. It would be interesting to tally how many commission dollars GD has lost on good names that did not fit there crystal ball methods. I hope I am not starting a thread that is a repeat of some other.

Only post what was rejected and sold.

But my guess is since the names did not recieve too much exposure like they would from GD, than most would sell under $1,000. :imho:

I had seventies.tv get rejected (even though it should have been a premium $500/yr name but for TV Corp's mistake). I am still looking for a buyer for it. Good thread to start. I will definitely post if I get any sales on domains that were rejected by GD.

I dont know about the exposure. I am not sure they even have that much traffic to their site anymore. Looking at dnjournal there are no sales at GD. I have not found any recent sales anywhere either. If someone has alink to recent sales that would be great. I have a name listed there and have not recieved even knibble.

Good point. GD has fallen recently.

I'll bet the statement below is 100 times more common, particularly with all the crummy .cc and .tv they take,

"Those who have been accepted by GD and never sold the name that was accepted."

I would guess that most GD sale sare end user and potentially subject to NDA. Sales of this nature would not get publicity on purpose. Keep in mind that there are MANY sales outside of the reports on DNJ...

Names are selling (but in low volumes) and being reported on the front page for a short time after they occur, however it would seem the sales are not being reported to dnjournal.

Intersting. That gives more hope then. I hope this is the case. Thanks

This is the best guess among all and more reasonable.

Either the names are selling in low volumes or high volumes have no statistical basis as many sales at GD are not reported. If the perception is right that most of the buyers are end users, they care less to report. Only hope is if the seller reports it but then there may be NDAs out there. By all means DN Journal is not everything.

List at GD and list at other places and reach end users on your own too.

Good luck,

Gamehouse

Congrats.

The people at "Not So Great Domains" would not know the value of a great name like yours.

Personaly I think that is a $xx,xxx in the coming year - VOIP will be gynormous :)

I don't think this is right, most of greatdomains buyers are domainers, endusers target people from the whois record or by going to the domain itself, they want specific names for specific purposes, they rarely window shop at places like greatdomains.

jeez whats with these threads.....

Isnt a single "post your Great domain accepts and rejects" thread enough...??

Whats next, "post your great domain rejections where the domain starts with the letter B"... ??

Incidentally, theyve just rejected my WiMax.TV so that just about sums them up...

Badger- Since they rejected wimax.tv, it's obviously not worth much, but I'll be happy to take that one off your hands for fifty bucks. pm me.

:hehe:
