I received an extremely lowball offer today at SEDO for Tech.tv......I guess I should expect it. My 'normal' domains are lucky to get 2-3 views a month...I have had tech up for 3 days and it has been viewed 18 times and I am not even pushing it.

Why do people do things like that?

If I made $1 for every low-ball offer that I got at Sedo over the years, I will be retired, living on a boat in the Cayman Islands, with a "drink" in 1 hand, a cigar in the other hand and 10+ babes hanging out with me everyday, along with an endless supply of Viagra:)

Don't worry you just need one Tech geek/nerd who made millions in the tech world who will throw down some serious $$$$$$ for your name. Just be patient.

Thanks, Jim

I've had 3 offers as well now by email (ok, not quite true, 2 and one general enquiry). I only bought one name though, so can't complain. At least people agree it was a good one!

I still think channel7.tv is my best one though (but no offers for a few months now) - Maybe, I'll just have to wait for a few more years for it to mature!

Hi Eric,
Sedo is known for receiving low/lowish offers on domain names ... I have three questions;
Are you basing part of your valuation of the domain name on its views of recent three days, and what is your definition of "lowball" with regard to Tech.TV (ie., what confirmed sales or other data are you utilizing to support this valuation)? :gl:
Finally, was the domain recently registered for standard $Xx pricing, as well as standard $Xx yearly renewals?

Thanks for the insight,
Jeff B-)

std. pricing and std. renewal

My valuation: More than that....

Did you counter? Sometimes by low offers people are checking the price you're willing to sell the domain.

Just like you I recieved 2 low ball offers on F l y F i s h i n g dot tv from europe and uk. I'm in no rush to sell it till I get expected price. Pretty much most of the other ext. are developed websites.

Good Luck.

My opinion only but don't count on an auction of domainers to realize your ideal selling price for a domain. This upcoming SEDO auction is likely to have more eyeballs than usual so results may surprise to the upside. To avoid lowball offers I changed most domains at SEDO to fixed pricing. Yes, I receive fewer offers but save time.

Fixed pricing or may be you can put "Minimum offer" tag on your domain name. Even this option will keep out the low ball offers.

My valuation: More than that....

More than what, $100?

If $100 is indeed your understanding of "lowball" ... what I am asking is how much do you value "Tech.TV", and why? How can you substantiate your valuation at this time? :gl:
IYHO.

Thanks again,
Jeff B-)

The reason why .tv is getting so many offers recently is because of the publicity generated here.
I would bet the new offers are coming from non other than the members here trying to get a good deal.
Nothing wrong with that. But yes, I'll bet the offers and latest views on your domains on SEDO are from domainers looking to snag a great deal.
