Warning, mega vent:

ARGH!!!!!! Some people totally suck!

Early last month, my husband headed off to work one morning only to find the rear driver side window of our truck smashed in. The only thing stolen? A Power drill. 300 dollars damage for a stupid 50 dollar power drill. Thank god the alarm scared whoever off, but the damage set him back a couple of days of work for the car to be fixed and a couple hundred dollars....

Oh well, we thought these things happen, probably some kids that have nothing better to do, we'll just move on, and the window was fixed 3 days later...

Well, early yesterday morning, I walk out of the gym i work out at...which is just down the street where i live...only to find the same God D@^n window smashed in. I'm talking daylight, between 6:45 am and 8:30 am....i mean, who's up that early breaking into cars? And it's not like i'm parked out in the wilderness either, i was like ..... right infront of the gym, i'm parked right in front of the gym.

This time they stole his work bag (which they probably thought was a computer case), which had his work stuff in it.

And it's not like we live in a ""bad" area where pple are stealing to survive or anything....

I know everybody's had their stuff stolen every now and then, but what really bites is that sometimes you can't put a dollar value on then things taken, and somethings can't be re bought or replaced....The guy/gal probably thought they got away with a brand new computer yesterday.....only to find a bag of "worthless" papers and material....and for that reason, i know that the bag is now at the bottom in some trash bin right now, and not on auction on ebay.

And you know when stuff like that happens that you'll never get to face the creep and tell him/her what kind of slim ball they are....or get the opportunity to smash their knees in with the thing they took from you....which further adds to the frustration, the only thing you can do is pray that karma or some sort of divine presence sends down some poetic justice on the guy.....cuz it's not like the cops are going to break a sweat to try and find the guy or your stuff.

I hope the guy gets a bad case of e coli and spend the next week unable to eat or sleep....is that wrong of me?

...ahhhh, i'm feeling better....

I know how frustrating this is. A few months ago I went to have a photo framed. I parked in a very visible spot, and rushed to have the work done on time to a meeting. I came back about 20 minutes later only to find someone had stolen all four tires' plastic caps. I was about to swear when I noticed that I had left a window down and my wife's brand new laptop on the passenger's seat... and the thieve(s) didn't notice it!...

They were cheap plastic caps, that's what put a smile on my face when I realised they hadn't noticed the laptop... But it really makes you angry when someone steals and/or damages your property.

Yea....thieves, we have a "special" place in our hearts for those with such an agenda as a way of life.
Last year we were putting in a tradeshow at the convention center in Long Beach, Ca. After a very long (14hrs.) day I headed for the CC parking lot when a fellow co-worker came up and said his and several cars around him had been broken into. As I walked up to mine I saw the drivers door ajar and thought I'd been hit hard, since all my hand tools and power tools were in the back of my hatchback. I got in and found they had broken the rear passenger window, ($230 installed) crawled over roughly $1,000 worth of tools to get to my cd player and rip off the faceplate... which rendered it useless and that was it. Toolbox, untouched. Power drills, saws, untouched. I considered myself lucky.... but heres the bit, broke the window which was a waste because both doors were unlocked...(intentional so kiddies wouldnt break my windows if they were gonna rob me anyways and pros would just slimjim so why bother) and they got nothing for all that effort. They did however leave a sweatshirt stolen from another workers car on my drivers seat which I was able to return to the owner.
$500 deductable kept me from reporting to my Insurance.
So basiclly I worked that day for free, which isn't in my contract... lol
But in the longrun, we just have to remember how life works. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Sometimes bad people get away without getting caught. People have to look themselves in the eye every morning, and those that can't because of guilt pay a dear price. It all comes around...
And we can always get more stuff, almost everything can be replaced. Thank goodness you wern't in the vehicle when the thieves decided they wanted what was yours.

Peace, kid5150

I bet you they checked the glove box for a valet key while they were at it. Nothing was, so they just ran off with whatever they could find
