Well shit, I'm just a kid, probably shoulda thought about this earlier. Was just trying to make a buck.

What do you guys think I should do? I don't want to get into any serious legal issues.

I think I'll call Google later this evening; Do you think they'd take it off my hands then, and I'd be off the legal hook? And hopefully give me a little cash for what it cost me to register?

Please I need help on this, lol, im such a dumbass

Thank you for the help so far guys, I'll rep you in a little while.

Don't ask them for money, in the US it's a criminal offense to hold domains for ransom.

You don't need to contact Google. Hold on to the domain, and give it to Google should they contact you.

There are too many trademark issues that Google dealing with, so not a big deal.

When they demand it back, you may plea that you're only a kid etc, and ask for their kindness. But don't just go to them, and ask money for the domain.

Blah this sucks. If you say I shouldn't call then I guess I shouldn't. I'm also going to stop promoting to sell it then too, to prevent any further possible trouble.

But besides that... anyone have any opinion on my other domains? I'm pretty sure they dont violate any trademarks :) ~ Hope they're worth some value, would like to cover the loss of that other domain. $20 at least for them would you say? Maybe more?

Stupid question but what if i developed a site and called it:

Guys Of Outdoors Goods, Luxiries, and Entertainment Store

googlestore for short?

would be a shop that sold stuff for things like hunting/fishing/atv/camping and ect.... would it still techinally be stealing the google trademark? even if it was of a totally different thing then google itself?

Google's lawyers usually don't care that much. They constantly send out zillions of C&D letters to offending domains.

I just canceled the domain and GoDaddy will be giving me a refund. Thanks for the headsup, any later and I couldn't have gotten my refund. :)

Still would like some thoughts of my other 3 domains

academyoffinance.net
americanstockholder.com
americanstocktrades.com

They are all kinda long, and subject to typos.

Reg Fee to low XX for all of them.

And good choice getting rid of the google name.

If you use google in your domain. Expect this letter which was sent to other google domains

-------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sirs:

Google is the owner of the well-known trademark and trade name GOOGLE, as
well as the domain name GOOGLE.COM. As you are no doubt aware, GOOGLE is
the trademark used to identify our award-winning search engine, located at
http://www.google.com. Since its inception in 1997, the GOOGLE search
engine has become one of the most highly recognized and widely used Internet
search engines in the world. Google owns numerous trademark registrations
and applications for its GOOGLE mark in countries around the world.

Google has used and actively promoted its GOOGLE mark for a number of years,
and has invested considerable time and money establishing exclusive
proprietary rights in the GOOGLE mark for online computer services and a
wide range of goods. As a result of its efforts, the GOOGLE mark has become
a famous mark and a property right of incalculable value.

You have registered, without Google's permission or authorization, the
domain name xtragoogle.com (the 'Domain Name'). The Domain Name
incorporates the famous GOOGLE mark in its entirety, and, by its very
composition, suggests Google's sponsorship or endorsement of your website
and correspondingly, your activities.

Your use of a Domain Name that incorporates the famous GOOGLE mark in its
entirety constitutes trademark infringement and dilution of Google's
trademark rights and unfair competition. Your use of the Domain Name is
diluting use because it weakens the ability of the GOOGLE mark and domain
name to identify a single source, namely Google. Further, your registration
and use of the Domain Name misleads consumers into believing that some
association exists between Google and you, which tarnishes the goodwill and
reputation of Google's services and trademarks.

Your registration and use of the Domain Name is also actionable under the
Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy ('UDRP'). Under similar circumstances,
Google has prevailed in numerous UDRP actions. These decisions are located
online at http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrpdec.htm .

In view of your infringement of our rights, we must demand that you provide
written assurances within 7 days that you will:
1. Immediately discontinue any and all use of the Domain Name;
2. Take immediate steps to transfer the Domain Name to Google;
3. Identify and agree to transfer to Google any other domain names
registered by you that contain GOOGLE or are confusingly similar to the
GOOGLE mark;
4. Immediately and permanently refrain from any use of the term GOOGLE or
any variation thereof that is likely to cause confusion or dilution.

Sincerely,

The Google Trademark Enforcement Team

Glad you axed the Google name, well done. More trouble than they're worth. I inadvertently reg'd a 'realtor' name without knowing that was a TM, so got rid of it immediately (there's a thread in 'legal' section about it) and feel much better for it.
But here's one for the other side of the fence: my domaining pard has a lot of tm'd names, and just sold a 'google' one for $850 - to an experienced domainer who knew what he was doing, not a newbie. So, go figure. Personally, I stay far away from them. - Although we split all our proceeds, so what does that make me? :)

Your other names: sorry, all too long, and not snappy or interesting enough, nor with right keyword combos, to be of any value IMO. Hand out at the Namepros other forums and you'll pick up great knowledge on what kinds of names are worthy of making you some coin.
Happy domaining.
