Google search results ?

when you type something in the google search bar , for example let's say " pizza " & underneath it reads (about 13,200,000 results) what does that mean exactly . is that the number of pages or websites on the subject or is that the number of people typing in that search term & if so is that monthly searches or what ? . thanks

That would be the number of clickable links(webpages) that the search query has produced.

To find # of searches for a specific term, I believe you need a Google AdWords account and go to the keyword planner tool for those statistics.
