Already, Google has released the beta version of its Google Print feature. This is the item of dispute among thousands of authors worldwide. The question: Is it copyright violation?

Go Google... if they can continue to wind around copyright laws and other legal issues, they will stay #1 in the search industry for a while, and for that matter, come up in many other industries quickly.
You may notice that the results are limited to three pages, the quality of print is low so that printing does not entice illegal publishing/copying, and only the first three pages of the books are posted. "The Scarlet Letter" is a prime example, lol.
Authors can choose to have their works removed, but cannot repeal that action once taken.
