Starting this thread so we may learn how to use this powerful google tool. I have watched it for about a year now but not implemented into any sites. This Thread is the inspiration for starting this topic.

With the custom search engine, YOU can choose what search results are displayed when a user enters something into the search field (and your adsense code is attached to the google ads on the results page). Anyone using this tool yet?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I have been using it on - Type Your Search Here

Neat tool, but the returns are up and down. But you can specially craft the results like the OP notes, so if you have a large website portfolio and can get reams of traffic to your search page you can do pretty well.

I use the Google Custom Search Engine extensively on various sites, and I've also built a network of Halloween-themed sites around it. You are allowed to actually modify the code much more than you can do with AdSense for Search.

For an example, check out www.hauntedinmichigan.com. I have front ends for this particular search engine for all fifty states.

You want to make sure you use the tools they offer you, like the Google Marker so that you can easily add new sites to your search engine, and the Refinements so that people can search in categories (in my case, Haunted Houses, Corn Mazes, Hayrides, etc.)

Sites look great!

What brought up this topic was the use of the google links on the left menu at paintchairs.com. If this tool is what was used, and is within TOS, I can see some great potential in using it this way.

I put up a small test of this theory at ihotfile.com. Nothing fancy, just some simple tests.

@ Roy & Netmeg

Is it OK if we're playing arbitrage for the Google CSE site, just like yours ?

I mean, how about their TOS from Google Adsense side ?

thanks

I don't do arbitrage on any of my CSE sites, but I don't think there's any specific rule on it. But you won't likely get much of a quality score from AdWords, nor what passes for a quality score from Yahoo or MSN, unless you add some significant content to it.

Ya, I also can't find the rule on adsense sides for arbitrage on CSE sites. Arbitrage in here I mean from another PPC search engine, adwords now so tight for arbi.

Maybe somebody got this issue ?

Anyway, thanks sis for inspiring the CSE site looks like
