Google bought X.Company from the first owner was Chinese person so Google use that name for X project .

There's a reason when the registry dropped at least 10+ one letter .company names a month ago that I did not bother picking up for registration fee (premium domain). A fluke sale in my opinion.

Bro Sam if you saw some people dropped the L .company and you don't get them because you don't believe so keep do what you believe , in my case i believe some of those companies can be interested of them .

The most important do what you believe and accept in the future what will happen if you win or lose .


for me i will accept what it will happen no problem for me because i believe of them there are amazing meaning and correct 100% i will be happy and i enjoy with this type of extension .company the money go and back

I don't think they are going to stick with X.company.

What we can see is that Google are using a lot of different extensions + subdomains under .google.com + ccTLDs (they use them extensively for the various localized versions of their famous search engine).

There is no clear branding strategy, it looks more like individual experiments. What would make sense from my POV is that they use .google and consolidate sites under their own extension. Right now, they are diluting their brand in lots of different projects.
Perhaps they just don't want to associate their name yet with future failures I'm saying this, because they (like other companies) have killed/retired a lot of projects over time.
They also use a .news domains don't they ?

But as for Google and Alphabet, I think their main goal is to re-brand under the Alphabet, and the easiest way to do that is to use .XYZ as the .brand extension

You are still very much infatuated with .xyz.

Even if they did, doesn't mean end users/developers will follow. There are never enough copycats to bring critical mass.
In fact, even new TLD operators are disillusioned today, because they realize the present is grim and the future not so bright. New TLDs are not gaining momentum, I don't think they will ever be mainstream because the demand isn't big enough. New TLDs are a dream for the most part.

Bro if a own hundreds of thousands .com domains, I would say the same, maybe worse. Let face it! .com means commercial, it gained popularity because there where no competition while it was growing. .xyz is cool & classy, .COMPANY says it all with authority.
