Google AdSense needs ss#?

i heard somewhere that google adsense requires a social security #?
Is that true? Anything out there that doesnt but still pay good?

Yes it requires social security number.

Most "reliable" programs do need a SS#, as they are required to by law if they pay you more than ____ (Insert figure here, typically $600).
Google has been trustworthy with the SS#'s so far, so I don't think you have too much to fear in giving it to them, just FWIW

Are you under 18 and don't know it or are you not living in the US?

Any US site that runs an affiliate program will require your SS#. If a site is run by a company in the USA and they dont ask for a SS# I wouldnt sign up.

Why you ask? Well if they dont report that to the IRS and they get audited it may also get you into trouble with the IRS.

If you are a non US resident then you still need to declare your online earnings to the IRS. Just because Google doesn't require non US publishers to fill in their national social security number doesn't mean that you don't have to pay taxes on your income.
