I would disagree with GD's appraisal.

The MV for a name like this is more into the high XX - low XXX

I have some comprable names that have only gotten Low-Mid XXX nibbles so that's what I'm going to say your high reseller expectations should be.

However -- I keep checking this list of .US I run every now and then and the names are getting gobbled up very quickly. I think all of us who have invested into .US will get a large return, and obviously, with that, the value of this name should increase rapidly as time goes on.

Don't sell for peanuts unless your starving. (advice you gave me once)

Peter

LOL Peaches....Not selling it for peanuts for sure....I paid mid xx for it,It is a keeper until i get a decent offer in the x,xxx range,It warrants a good sale due to the brandability and so many development uses it can have..combined with the google and overture,,,I will tuck it away good and let it gain nice equity.

Thanks for the appraisel peaches :)

I'd say it has more value developed (perhaps as a freebie site) but still high xx as is undeveloped.

Gawd that's a beauty name, I agree with Godaddy and for sure those .us are gaining in value every day. Mid $XXXX for sure and I like the peanuts comment. :hehe:

I agree with Godaddy's appraisel.
I calculate dot US domains as 0.05 times the overture value.
Which would make your name worth $1600.

I wish people would stop saying "it would have more value developed."

I'm assuming you're referring to me as this is one of my favorite pieces of advice, and I stick by it. For a couple reasons... as a web user, I assign more credibility and value to a site that takes the time to offer something more than a parking page. As a buyer, I'd assume a developed site might have revenue or traffic to go along with the domain... a domain in my eyes is the smallest part of the equation.

Goodies has the potential to be a great developed site.. but I'd value the .com much higher than the .us as an undeveloped domain.

No question the Dot com is worth about 90% more than the dot US,That is my estimate today...dot US is worth 10% of what the same name in .com is worth,The great part,Although parked with sedopro,The name has taken in 10 uniques with one click through since about 3PM today,So my opinion is revenue,Rather it is development or paking revenue doesn't matter to me,Uniques and conversions is all that matters to me,Developed or parked...Dave...What would you valuate the dot com of this name?

Don't forget.. some of those uniques, if not all, may be a result of this thread.

Again, even the com needs something besides the name IMO.. I don't think I've ever typed "goodies" into a search bar until today to see what results it brought up.

It's definitely brandable.. the .com is better than the .us IMO at low xxx - mid xxx, undeveloped.

The other problem with the .us is that without branding and development, the traffic will invariably go to a developed .com.

That's an interesting assesment,I appreciate the feedback dave,Although there is no way i would consider selling the name for under x,xxx ..I like it that much-lol...But i think of growing up,,,and still used heavily today,,"Look at all the goodies" ...."You can get a bunch of goodies there" ,I can't say i have ever typed in goodies myself...But overture on this name is nice..I will most likely develope the name...The question is what development...I can develope this name in so many niches...I will have to research the best dev for it.

Hey I was just thinking

Maybe start an affiliate site selling stuff to put in goodie bags, or sell pre-made goodie bags, or let people customize goodie bags and then ship it to them.

That would be sweet.

That's a great idea peter! Thank you :)

I have so many devs going through my mind with this name.....I know the potential is there to raise the ladder big time with the name.

Music store? Goodies can be anything from trinkets to a whole net store as big as walmart,,,,to a simple freebie site or coupon code site...I am not sure what you mean though...the .com is parked...the .net is redirected to a website.

I kinda agree with dgridley in the fact that some domains you look at and think WOW, some domains you see and think 'theyve got potential to be big' and some are just average.
Id put Goodies.us in the 'potential' category. I think thats what dgridley was meaning when he says it would be worth more developed.
As it is now, id say low XXX. Developed - could be a very lot.

Oh, and..

No question the Dot com is worth about 90% more than the dot US,That is my estimate today...dot US is worth 10% of what the same name in .com is worth,

- you mean the .com is worth 900% more than the .us (90% is 1.9 times more)

I'm not sure the stores themselves are called Goodies (I could be wrong).. I think you're thinking about the Sam Goody music chain. I'd thought of this initially and wondered about potential TM issues, which is why I suggested development as a freebie site.

No TM issues,It was TM...Abandonment Date March 30, 2006,TM is dead

I did forget about sam goody music chain...A HUGE music chain-LOL

I am thinking "Freebie" site dave...It seems it would draw the most traffic
