Well, I got back to my duplex to find out that my desktop computer is fried. It's definitely a power issue and from the research I have done on this particular model, it probably means the motherboard is fried. It would cost me ~$200 to fix it and then there may be other damage.

I'm looking for a cheap desktop - no monitor w/ option other stuff - in the $300-$400 range (or lower). Any suggestions?

Appreciate the help.

Hi Denver,

If I were you, I'd take a look through DealCatcher's Dell Home Deals Page. Dell offers all kinds of great deals some days for around your budget -- and it's nice hardware, too.

There was a very nice desktop in there for $299 the other day -- looks like the cheapest today is $329. :)

Hoping your search goes well... :gl:

Hi. Just wanted to mention that I have a laptop for sale if you are interested in that:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140136588880

Is only at $99.99 now which I cannot believe. D-:
I hope the bids raise or I'm going to be out of a lot of money. :p

But anyway yeah the laptop is really nice, in great condition, and works beautifully.
If any questions for it let me know. If not interested sorry to waste your time having you read this. :p

Why not build your own? It would be cost efficient.

I'm terrible at building computers and stuff, and I had a friend put it together for me. I have a nice rig that runs most games for about $400. You can probably build one that does basic Internet browsing and multimedia stuff for like $200.

There's a thread on slickdeals.net that shows you how to build a core2duo computer around $350.

It's not that hard if you can get someone to pick out the parts for you. At that point it is just plugging stuff in and popping in a CD.
