I know there are some goldbugs here! Let's inspire each other with some gold/silver domain names.
I reg'd GoldChronicle . Com for a future gold news site.

IK, I like.COMs best, but a good one word with .gold would be alright. I'm out of fresh ideas for new regs atm. If I think of something good I'd register it. I just don't see any marathons like when I first started. I ended up with at least a dozen. I was surprised by goldchronicle too, I think I seen that it was registered a couple times in the past. I would love to develop it someday but, it would be an ongoing time expenditure, which I'm not ready for just yet. It's a nice 2 word generic meaning news. Goldnews.com would be great, obviously, but expensive. I can't think of much else that sounds better than chronicle to go with gold, so ya I'm happy and excited to have it.

buygold.io is the only extension other than com and net for the gold and silver. I just really wanted those keywords (buy gold). Most mine are .com anyways, a couple .net, like goldchat.net. Heh, I don't really have a favorite, I have an idea for them all. Maybe once I make some sites my favorite would be which one does the best:P

Interesting post

my idea for geo+gold would be for online coinshop targeting that country and not so much about the mining of it. I'll bet someone unfamiliar with gold, but looking to buy in denmark would choose to see a site named denmarkgold.com. I'd have to imagine they would be searching for terms like 'buy gold in denmark'. Supply some information for these peoples most likely search terms then you can rank #1 and sell them gold :)

I have other geo domain that work on similar premise. Oahugold.com I mentioned earlier in the post. People from Hawaii wait awhile to get shipments. What if they don't want to wait so long? They are most likely to buy locally. Here is Oahugold.com ready to match their search query more perfectly than any other domain. Domain isn't much without a website. When you put a GOOD domain to use, this value is realized. Good domainer knows how much the pairing of domain and optimized website can earn and how hard it is to implement and rank.

Excellent post. Thank you for sharing. I agree that domain + website boosts value. Exploring your strategy further: Someone in Denmark looking for gold in the capital city Copenhagen, would search google.dk. In Danish: køb guld københavn (buy gold in copenhagen). On the first page all results are .dk TLD, and all but one SLD is in Danish. There are thousands of country, capital city, major city and major town domains + gold.

Yea I wanted to mention how cctl plays such a huge role and every country is different. Some type english, some their native language. Some make good use of their tld, others rather like .com. After all you've posted, knowing they are going to search .dk my domain doesn't sound as good ;) but i knew about it

Soo...

As far as I understand both forms are used in practice as adjectives (IDK which one is grammatically correct), like you can see both "precious metal dealers" and "precious metals dealers" phrases used often. So if you use the phrase "precious metal(s)" in the beginning of the domain both forms seem to be equal. But when you use the phrase at the end, like "buy precious metal(s)" the plural form is superior. Am I correct here?

Isn't it a fairly simple distinction? "Precious metal" implies gold, silver OR platinum, "precious metals" implies gold, silver AND platinum.

Thank you. I'm not a native speaker hence the question. Looks like the plural version is more valuable.
