I just registered three domains at GoDaddy. My problem is that GoDaddy would not let me register the domains unless I also ordered the private registration service with the domains. (There was no way to cancel this service on my order) I do not want this service . I have never had this happen before when registering a domain. These were dot tv domains, but I have registered other dot tv domains and never encountered this problem. Is there anyway to cancel this service? Please advise. Thanks!!

Not yet. I guess that's what I will do. I even cleared my cart and started over again, picked standard registration and the private registration was in my order again. Weird is right!

They're giving away free private registration with the purchase of 3 or more domains. All you have to do is cancel the "privacy" when you renew them.
As long as you have them listed somewhere, (Sedo, Afternic).. potential buyers should still be able to contact you.
Sometimes, privacy helps. They have no idea if you're a business or just a domainer.

I do remember reading that. You haven't been charged for the service, correct?

I was charged $1.76 for each domain (for this service). I did see the free private registration service with the registration of three domains, but I did not register them at the same time. This was added to the very first domain I registered and was added to each domain I registered after that. I have e-mailed GoDaddy about this.


Update: I just registered another name and this time I was given the choice of not excepting the private registration service.

Hi, same problem encountered here too. I'm in contact with customer services
about this problem and I've sent screenshots of the cart page bug.

Could you contact them also, may help to get the problem resolved quicker.
