GoDaddy Registering .WS Again After 1-Day Outage ...

Just learned that you can no longer register .ws at GoDaddy. No word on why they dropped the extension and I am still trying to find out what happens to .ws domains in their system when they expire.

Could be a major blow to .ws because a lot of people registered them due to the cheap price at GoDaddy (less than a third of what the .ws home site charges - plus if you register at the .ws site and end up selling a domain, they charge you an extortionate $100 transfer fee and cancel any time you have already paid for on the domain and require thenew owner to buy a new $70 two-year registration! Net effect - $170 in extra fees to transfer a domain at website.ws). Moral of the story - NEVER register a .ws at website.ws.

With GoDaddy and WildWest out of the picture what registrar has the next best .ws price?

You cant do a whois on .WS anywhere that gives complete information...

No, only the registrar shows the expiry date of their .ws, elsewhere don't have this info. I'm tracking some .ws that regged at GoDaddy and expire soon.

It's OK wasistdas.. .Ws is alive and strong ..even at Godaddy

.Ws is the most secure domains to own..they cannot be transfered..hence they cant be stolen .

whois is PRIVATE on .ws domains ...

Seriously...I just noticed this today and was like :O. I too only have 1 .ws, but it's a very very good one...that would have sucked bigtime! Glad to see it was just a glitch or something, but I second the notion of what the heck is going on at GoDaddy that those kinds of things happen?!
