Just so there's no confusion...

I would like a direct answer on this as well.

Now that GoDaddy is an active player in the secondary market, there is a huge potential conflict of interest if they are using related parties or entities when it comes to bidding on expired auctions.

"Paul Nicks from GoDaddy posted on Namepros that change will not be coming. I think that’s a mistake, but then most talk about transparency in the domain industry is usually incomplete.

From Namepros:

Thanks for commenting. How about opening up bidders ID’s for transparency? Is that a change for the future?

Paul Nicks said: It’s something we’ve considered but have no current plans to change."

Maybe it's time to reconsider?

Collusion is always a bigger problem in any marketplace auction, regardless of the products offered.

Transparency with bidders are only a start to combat collusion, but a very big start. There is mounds of evidence to support these facts in auctions spanning multiple industries over decades of time.

Sure employees can't bid, but that doesn't address collusion, and again the problem is collusion.

https://domainnamewire.com/2019/03/28/godaddy-fires-employee-for-bidding-in-domain-name-auctions/

GoDaddy has terminated an employee after the company discovered that he was bidding in GoDaddy domain name auctions.
This employee created an account not associated with his legal name, and participated in auctions and expiry auctions as a bidder, which is a conflict of interest and a direct violation of our policy. To be clear, our investigation uncovered NO evidence that this employee used any confidential customer information for personal gain, or that he conducted shill-bidding on auctions.

While we believe the employee did not have malicious motivations, GoDaddy does not tolerate such violations of our Code of Conduct. Indeed, many provisions of our Code of Conduct are there specifically to protect our platform. We are very clear that no employee may participate in any auction that involves bidding against our customers. Employees are able to purchase buy now and closeout domains.

GoDaddy still needs to answer a lot of questions, and finally make long overdue changes starting with adding bidder IDs, among under things.

Who knows?May be HugeDomains is their partner. One thing is certain, there is a lot of things we do not know behind the scene but I have a huge feeling that Godaddy is bidding on most names at Auctions.
