Hi

I've bought domains on Godaddy. On some of them in my whois contact part I've kept the email address of the email used to register with Godaddy itself and on some of them i've used another email address for the whois.

I received the verification that Godaddy sends which came to my email address used to register with Godaddy and the email which they have stored for my account. When I clicked on the verification it made all my bought domains active straight away, even the ones which I put in another email address from my whois.

Even now when I buy a domain from Godaddy and use an alternative email address for my contact whois it activates my new purchases straight away and the status is active and I can clearly use my domains.

All the domains show as active, my question is, is this ok and everything is fine and means that once I clicked on the email verification link which was sent to for my email address for my Godaddy account (and same email used for some of my domains whois) that all my domains are active (as is shown) even though I have not received an email verification link for the domains in which I have put an alternative contact whois email, even though I get an email to this address as soon as I buy a domain with this email in my whois to confirm that I've purchased the domains?

My one time click on the verification email link sent to my godaddy account email seems to have been sufficient to make all my domains active even the ones that I have another email address for my whois (the address, and name etc are of course the same for all of my domains).

Anyone?

Basically received an email verification to my main email associated with godaddy account(and the one used on some of my godaddy domain whois). I clicked on that and all domains are ok and active so even if I buy domains from godaddy and put my other email address for whois in some of my domains I never get a verification email request for that address but the usual confirmation of purchase whenever I use my alternative email when I buy domains.

So basically that one verification to my main godaddy email account seems to be ok for all my domains, whether I put one email address or the other in my billing contact whois email field. And it seems to be fine and all done domains are active.

Is this ok and normal and I don't see any pending verification in the control panel all domains show active?

So basically the main email address associated with your godaddy account when you registered seems to be the one that they verify and it verifies all domains whether you use another email address for whois when buying the domain.

I think this is OK: they verify one email address so that they know they are able to contact you, they do not verify emails per domain basis.

Many thanks.

Can others also confirm this as well that you only need to verify one email address, the one associated with your godaddy account rather than the different email address that you may use in the whois field for some domains at godaddy?

All domains show as active so I'm presuming that verifying just the one email address is correct rather than the alternative email address that you might register a new domain with?

Does your email address for your whois have to match your main godaddy account email address?

Will having a different address for some of your domains cause problems? Or should I change all my domain whois email addresses to match my godaddy account email address, the one I got a verification email for?

No. If fact, sometimes experienced domainers prefer to have a different email for who.is records, so that the wide public does not know their godaddy login email.
