Hi,

I just got a mail from godaddy that they are offering me executive account to me. No extra charges. I tried to google whats it about, i cant find much info.

I am sure, there must be many experienced domainers here who have an similar account. I just want to know, what extra benifts we will get. Is it worthy? Any information is highly useful. Thank you guys

I have 593 there and haven't received it. Perhaps it has to do with the tlds/total money spent? I've heard that asking/demanding for one can work well if you have alot of names. I have the domain club membership anyhow, so no sweating here ;)

I have an executive account for about a year now ...

executive accounts get ...

a specific account manager that they can email/call for any kind of concern/question regarding their domains or other GoDaddy products/services ...

$6.95 for registrations/renewals/transfers (ICANN fee included)

lower prices for the others TLDs ... app. 10%-15% cheaper

calls/emails are redirected to a special department within GoDaddy called Retention ... where they get a somewhat "better treatment" since they are considered as good-spenders and reps try to retain them as customers ...

a vacation to the Caribbean once a month ... (I made this one up lol)

to qualify for an executive account ... you must have app. 250-350 domains at GoDaddy (preferably more) ... or , in general , to have spend a considerable amount there ... your executive account manager contacts you and greets you when you receive the executive account status ... if you have more than 300-400 domains and don't have an executive account , you might as well ask them for one (or for what number-of-domains/kind-of-spending is needed to get one)

I am collecting massively ... I need just about another 49,000 more ... I am hoping to go to my first Caribbean vacation about this time next ... century  :'(

The executive account department is really called Retention (in house). There job is to take care of the bigger wigs. And yes, often times it is for domain holders with 250 + domain names, or are spending quite a bit (Servers, hosting, ect). Its typically reserver for the top 1% of customers. It has its advantages most of the time...

I meant to say "emails/calls that are not send to your executive manager (or when your manager is out-of-office) are redirected to a special executive accounts department within GoDaddy called Retention"

also the name Retention is also used and "out house" sometimes ... when I called once general support without using my manager's # , the rep said "wait until I transfer you to Retention"

but ... how do you know about in-house GoDaddy names ? have you worked there or something ? :p

Reece - I know he has worked there (that was why the :p was there lol) ... also how do you think he got his previous name ? ... domainspaid ... and they paid pretty well ...

Silhouette - glad it helped ... if you cross 300 you might as well ask them , if you want

dragoitaliano - when I upgraded to a super duper whooper account (and before I sold 49,500 domains to get to ~500 I have today) , I went to a vacation with the GoDaddy Girls as well as the GoDaddy Girl contenders and the Dotster Dots :p ... and strangely the island we went to had only nudist beaches ... go figure ...

get the 80 dollar account.
You get 6.69 renewal, transfer, and reg fees, even on TDNAM

My rep Jay F is The Best! Answers the phone all the time, replies to emails right away. Always thanks me. I couldn't be happier with my customer service at GD :tu:

Moniker CS 1000 x's worse :td: and no sign of getting better. It's Bad, I mean BAD!

srisri24 - if you are planning to reg/renew more than 270 domains per year (check this thread for an explanation of the "270") it is a good idea to get the Discount Club Membership (that I think bobdigital is referring to) even if you have an executive account (you get $6.49 (+$0.20) .coms)

bear in mind that ... for executive accounts the price for the Discount Club Membership is reduced from $89.99/year to $69.99/year ... so , if you want the Discount Club Membership , it a better idea to ask your executive account manager about it ...

NOTE: on the 15th of October VeriSign raises the wholesale prices for .coms (by $0.42) ... therefore the Regular GoDaddy price for .com , the Coupon price(s) , the Executive price and the Discount Club price (and maybe the membership price) will probably change ... so it might be a good idea to wait until the price hikes occur , so that you can calculate again if it is profitable to buy a Discount Club Membership or not ...

Yofie - mine is a she :p

My account executive did the math and said it wouldn't be worth my while to join the domain club. The pennies I'd save on the on the .com registrations came with a very high break-even point. I highly recommend you accept the offer of an account representative. Support is excellent. Take a lot of hassle out of dealing with GD.

One weird thing though. All registrations/renewals have to go through your account rep, manually. This must be something to do with their commissions. I would have thought it would have lightened the load considerable to have just give out a coupon code connected with each account rep. It would speed up registrations considerably. But they don't seem to want to operate that way.

The registrar I worked with has a similar arrangement. Basically they classify
their customers not necessarily according to how many domain names they've
got, but how long and how much they've "invested" with them over time.

I don't recall anymore what those "classes" are. But those at the top do get
higher priority treatment than the average user, especially for mission-critical
issues.

Not really any different than getting VIP treatment or so in a first class airline.

Is that really true about other extensions being 10-15% cheaper? I have an account with Executive Accounts and have only received the discount for .com domains.
