I have used my webhost custom mail accounts. It just increases my work as I have to check one more account. So better go for mail forwarding option.

Do you mean the one free email that comes with each domain?

That means one free email address to send from, via their web interface or via something like Outlook.

You can create a wildcard that will receive to *@mydomain.com so you do not have to give out the address you send from. Has worked fine for me. You can ignore all the paid email offerings there, just keep digging till you get to the free stuff if that is what you want.

One caveat - their mailbox is not that big and may not tell you when the inbox is full.

The free option is so-so (I don't know about the paid service). It can be a bit glitchy at times, sometimes crashing or going into a loop, requiring you to shut down the page and signing in again.

On the positive side, the folders are easy to create and access.

Yes, the size is somewhat small, but if you keep after deletions, then it should be okay.

Also, with Godaddy's email option, you have to bookmark workspace.com so that you would not need to sign in your GD account just to access your email; otherwise, accessing your Godaddy email can be interesting and frustrating...

I also use Google's free domain-based gmail option, which requires some light techie stuff (directions on Google). I actually like the Google platform better, although the folders are a bit cumbersome. Your gmail address domain can be registered at Godaddy (I don't know about other registrars).

You should be able to sign in directly at email.mydomain.com to just the email - unless they have changed that option.

I have found it works perfectly with an email program like Outlook and I have set mine to download all emails from the server and not leave copies there, so the mailbox on the server never fills up.
