GoDaddy discounts when buying hosting.

I've been looking at the godaddy hosting and discounts on domains, this page specificly: https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shared.asp?se= &ci=260

It says "Your Domain is Just $1.99 With This Purchase". Now, if i was to buy "2 months:Just $3.99/mo" and get a free domain, could i then cancel the hosting account and keep the domain for free?

I suppose this goes the same with any other offer they do, email, ssl, etc.

I was just wondering if this could be a sneaky way to get cheap domain registrations

Would you actually get a refund? I believe you're locked in for 2 months, so you're forced into paying $8 for the hosting + $1.99 for the domain.

I'm pretty sure they would not allow that. I would check domain disscussion for the godaddy coupon thread for some coupons you can use. If you need hosting and a domain then it would be good to get both. But if you only need a domain, then I would not do the $1.99 special.
