Even though many codes don't work for me, godaddy is still the only Registrar that gives cheap codes for new registrations regurarly, whereas other registrars do this only once in several months with 1 .com or something, or like Register.com or 1&1 as a trap, so that when renewal time comes they can make it so difficult to transfer out ( i don't even use their 1$ codes anymore, deleted my account).
I just hope that godaddy doesn't exaggerate it with the geo restrictions, etc.
Its already getting harder and harder and confusing to get codes to work. A lot of time is spent on searching for working codes and the registrarion procedure so that sometimes it gets on my nerves and i simply register with the regular $8 price since i don't want to lose the "gems" i find just because of few dollars more or less and/or because someone else was faster.

ABSOLUTELY TRUE and well said, but not sure if register.com or 1and1.com would screw you up blocking the transfer on a closing deadline renewal
