For .US renewals I see GD charges 19.99 so even with a 50% coupon it is $10
So I just transfer mine to Moniker for $6.95

If the names are good enough for longer term renewals, you can transfer that name BACK to GD for a standard $8 price - BUT - that price is also good for multiple years.

I did this with 3dPrinting.us and put a three year renewal on the way back for $24


Keep an eye on .TV prices also - i have done the same thing a few times with .tv pricing as well

I would think that even if you spent it, they're (Godaddy) gonna come for the difference, no? So you probably lucked out.

Nope, I had 4 total. Two I spent out right away, one I partially used, 1 unused. Only the unused was refunded.
