GoDaddy bulk renews: "privacy" costs a fortune!

Hi folks,

I've got about 13 domains I need to renew or lose on Go Daddy.

To make the renewals private is going to cost me about $120, bringing the total cost way up.

Is there any other good way to keep people from finding my personal information and protect the domains and prevent myself from being
spammed without making the domains private through the Go Daddy service?

It's been awhile since I looked at this and I don't remember what the options are and the pro's & con's.

Can someone help me out in figuring out what a cheaper but effective approach is?

Thank!

Hi Reece! Our Domain Discount Club is changing on Thursday the 25th (tomorrow). The cost is going up from $89.99 a year to $199.99 a year. This change will come a lot more features and in the long run I think it will save you money. Today we can renew the DDC at the $89.99 rate for as many years as you like.

Let me know if and how many years you would like to renew your DDC on your account/s.

Thanks!

Tess Diaz

The new DDC package will include:
-10% off non domain products*
-Free cash parking
-Free TDNAM account
-5% off on all tdnam auctions
-Free privacy on all new reg if you prefer
-$2 privacy renewal
-25% off Reseller accounts and renewals
-Same domain pricing is included

This doesn't appear to have been implemented yet but should offer those of us with large portfolios at Godaddy considerable savings.

I would call them and ask them to drop that fee...... I have not paid it since the first year ...... I am assuming since I am a big buyer/renewer they have struck it from my account....and I am assuming you are too and maybe it just has not been struck from your account yet.

There is no reason to pay that if you spend considerable money with them..... and that should be used as leverage not to pay that dumb fee.

I used to have more names. But I'm working on dropping it to ones that appraise better. They said no go. Talked to three reps for different reasons over two days. They offered me 20% of at the most for privacy. One started to try to see if he could get me 25% off. They'd rather lose the re-reg than drop the privacy... So they lost the re-reg.
