Is It Worth Registering .ae Domains?? It Costs A Fortune!

.ae is for the United Arab Emirates. It costs between $250 and $500 to register a SINGLE .ae name, depending on who you do it through....and I don't even know which of these companies is on the level, or just a rip off. $500 a name...GOOD GAWD!!

Furthermore, the Emirates are totally pro doing business with the rest of the world so .com would seem to be the best way to go for registering names for Dubai and other Emirates.

So, is there any real point in spending so much money to go with .ae?? And if so when is a .ae worth it?? And who are the honest companies to register .ae with??

why don`t you try the registry? $50 per name, oh...and no you can`t reg gambling or adult names despite they show to be available.

Thanks 4 the info Italiandragon. Just went to the registry(nic.ae). I still feel that the much cheaper .com names are a far better deal since the Emirates strongly want to deal with the entire world, and for that .com is KING.

As of 2005 - The population of The United Arab Emirates was 4,496,000

So, the country as a whole has about half the population of New York City. Dont you think the potential end-user market for these domains is limited? Consider Chinas population of 1,321,851,888

I would consider that a stronger market to pursue.
