Hi guys,
Last year, i set up my GD 2-steps verification option that just required code once i did a high dangerous action like : Change PIN code, change password.
Tonight, once i'm on my bed, my phone received a verification code without any action from me.
I tried to contact GD Customer Service but they can help, they just recommend to use 2 steps verification once access my account - which was very uncomfortable.
What i needed is to find out there were any guys who tried to access my account or not.
What do you think ?

Switch to Google Auth app instead of SMS. That's safer

I've had this happen to me a couple of times. When I called GD, they explained to me what most likely happened:
1) someone called GD and claimed something happened to their domain name (which I now own because I won it in GD Expired Name Auctions).
2) The GD Support person asks for the domain name, and tries to access the account it is in -- this is when the Verification Text gets sent out to the cell phone on record.

This sounds plausible as I do purchase Expired Domain Names from GD. So I can imaging this scenario happening. I just keep an eye on my account for any other suspicious activity.

NOTE: One thing I wish GoDaddy would add is the last 10 ip addresses used to sign into my account. Some other Registrars provide this detailed information (ex Dynadot)

Regards,
DN

I have 2 stage authentication and occasionally get one of these codes that I did not request.
In every situation it was one of the (2) reasons Dn_Hunter listed above.

Thanks DN, now i know why it happened to me. Almost my domains in GD came from GD Auctions :)
