I wonder when GMail is going to be realeased to the public and out of beta stage.

No idea why GMail is still considered to be in Beta. Personally I consider GMail as an example of an abuse of the term "beta" and I don't understand why Google does this.

Hmm read the first link provided, but i dont think users will not use gmail as primary. I still think yahoo emails are most used, but gmail is gaining popularity and Im assuming they make bank on ads clicked via gmail

maybe google is keeping the "beta" in there so that they have the option to suspend everyone's account when they don't need its loyal users anymore.

they give ample time btw it's for 30 days, but since they're beta the software is allowed to make errors, i think that's more of a marketing approach rather than functionality of the software.
they keep on adding features but still they're beta so they can't be blamed if someone happens to your account like if your account got hacked and all domains connected with it goes to the hacker.

this is actually some experiences of people on the other forums im member of, a whole portfolio got hacked as well, they're most probably of thinking the concept of if not beta then it's allowed to take paid membership, so it's for the good of us until it's beta.

That's scary...but are you sure it's not because their passwords were too simple?

actually I don't know from simple password to getting a keygen in your computer is actually the individual's responsibility of protecting himself esp. on the internet, but lately they're getting active in resolving these standing issues with gmail accounts getting hacked left and right

once you're login to gmail, examine if you have your web address similar to this
http://mail.google.com/mail/shva=1#inbox
if so you got the newer version take a look at gmail's logo still saying beta

I've had a Gmail account since the beginning. I think it's about time they drop the whole 'beta' look and finally release Gmail. I don't see why they would keep it in beta forever.

Why are people hooked to Gmail? Because it's fast and simple.
