Gmail Hacked

Yesterday I received an email from my Gmail a/c,.... It says its from a Company in China, selling electronics....
It has used my Gmail address, plus it has sent this email to all my Gmail Address Book (including my other email in which I received this mail) ...

Does it mean they have got my Gmail password ?

Am surprised as I dont use this Gmail a/c that much...
Just for my adsense etc...

Pls help, wht shld i do....As my Ad-Sense a/c is on that email....

No i do not think someone enter your gmail account.
They did that (sent e-mail "from you"), just because to draw your attention and "forced" you to open the e-mail.
Why? Because it is easy to modify "from" e-mail field.
For example you can send e-mail as "[email protected]" :D , "[email protected]" :p
And of course as your account.

Btw, i got lot of e-mail from "me", but i just ignore it

there are about 5 emails in my address book, and they sent them to all of them...I can see as they are under CC in the email !

I have no idea how they sent emails to 5 emails in your address book. But you should change your password asap. :tu:

man.....am really scared you know....They can take my whole ad-sense a/c...


by the way, they have their own website,their email etc...
Its a Chinnese company, dealers in Electronics...
But when I try to email them, their hotmail email doesnt work !

Also, I tried to check in my Gmail a/c under SENT Items, but it doesnt show any proof that their email was written and sent via my gmail account....
But than how the hell did they get my Address Book !!

Change your password immediately.

If they have as you said emailed the same to the contacts in your mail box there are a couple of possibilities.

1) Your account has been hacked and they used your contact list to send the emails.
2) It is a coincidence that you and your contacts got the same email.

The fact that the emails claim to come from your email account suggests the former. It is easy for someone to make it look like an email came from a different address but if that is the address shown in your friends emails as well then there is just way too many coincidences.

It is not that hard to delete them.

i got Ad-Aware of lavasoft..... is that enough or ?

ok...Just now i checked in my other email of HOTMAIL, and I got a very similar email from an unknown person....Its the same email I got from my Gmail account....Also I can see there are lots of CC in this emails, so its probably someone else's contact....
This is the email which I got through my Gmail, and now in my HOTMAIL (From someone else's email account)..

Is this for a site called "j y u w t r . c o m". I have put spaces in to ensure it doesn't get picked up from search engines etc.

A friend of mines hotmail account got hacked with a similar email for that website.

ad-aware is mainly geared towards ads... try to get more spyware related software (avg anti-spyware 7.5). i believe it's free.

try logging in, if you can login successfully change your password, it's just a spoof
fyi/headsup even their adsense email can be spoofed, I don't have adsense account btw why would I receive this email?

There were a few reports recently where hackers are able to inject a filter into your gmail account and receive your messages. Possibly they happened to pickup your contacts as well? Go to your settings tab and click filters, see if there are any filters there that you did not make.

lol the service has been going for close to 4 years now. The beta term is something Google abuses on a regular basis. The only reason they have it marked as beta is so that they can change things as and when they please (or even remove the service like they have done with a few other things).

Beta is meant to indicate that a service/product is still in testing and not ready for general use yet. The fact that anyone can signup suggests that is not the case with Gmail.

Because the address book thingy worried me alot....

( by the way, my ad-sense a/c is quite new and nothing much is in it
