So I joined that forum WHT... and I answer someones post that needed some help. It just so happens that I very recently wrote an article that would help them out... I didn't even post a link... I merely told them were they could find the article at my site. I was by no means "self promoting" or whatever they accused me of. Very unprofessional.

In any event... I was actually given 10 warning points. For trying to help someone out. I am a brand new member there... GIVE ME A BREAK. I won't ever go back. :td:

WHT is the worst when it comes to rule-enforcing... they give warning points like welcome points :p

Yea, most websites need to pick staff carefully... Thats probally the problem, the staff... I owned a virtual pet game about 2-3 years ago, a clone of neopets, well i gave up cause i couldnt trust any of the staff i had, i even tried to make an artificial mod lol cause the people were just not trust wortht, and i couldnt afford to pay mods at the time... it really sucked :( So i shut the site down. But then i did make a gaming network, was up for a few months, and then i lost it all cause of angelnetworkz.net ;) (dont even use them ;)), Now, im about to release two new text based mmorpg's (a strategy and a virtual pet game with an awsome unique feature)

So yea, it was the staff, staff are very hard to come by, namepros is probally the best staff on the net :imho:

Ya, WHT is definitely not one of the more professional forums on the net. NamePros Staff are the best :tu:

Sorry to hear what happened to you. I actually frequently post there myself.

Just recently I had some posts deleted. Beats me why.

Then again, just remember that no 2 forums have to be the same. So how one
forum treats an issue may be treated differently by another.

To be sure, do check their TOS. :bah:

I post on WHT daily, and I can tell you that the rules are there for a reason, if 1 gets broken and slips by, there are 100 idiots standing in line going to break that same rule because someone else got away with it..

The problem over there is not the mods or the staff, its just the crowd that the site attracts, which is spammers and people trying to self promote and sell stuff..

And it gets really annoying sorting through real posts and crap over there when the mods are away..

i totally agree....the mods there are just trigger happy...just like bullies!! if there is a forum for reposting bad forums.....i would put WHT in top ten

Welcome to WHT, heh. Just know that it's not what it once was. It's full of wannabe host newbies (mostly in their mid-early teens) who think they know it all. In fair defense of the mods the place is basically a warzone when it comes to breaking forum rules. Unfortunately, they must be tough and a overdo it a little to protect the forum.

Believe me, though I've never been warned or anything there, I've had my disagreements on outside forums with these guys. The forum has really gone downhill since iNet acquired it and ruffled the feathers of all the old crew. I took a break from it for a while because I became so annoyed. Now, the only reason I visit is for my own business. However, I do try to help those who really need it.

As a forum Staff, our primary focus is building and nurturing the Namepros community. We respect that every forum has their own unique qualities of good and bad, however we ask that you do not use NamePros or WebDesignTalk to promote, OR conversely, to depreciate other domain/web design related discussion forums. Likewise we also ask that you do not use other domain forums to advertise for NamePros. This makes for an overall more fair, healthy and friendly environment

Sabre, you should know the rules, being that you're a forum leader ;) lol
