Should I Give Up?

I'm thinking I'm going to give up on domaining.

I'm staying at my mom's this weekend, and she's saying that she's going broke (coming from the person who I know makes $101,000 per year, and after taxes and expenses has at least $1500 left per month), and that she'll have no money by January. Basically, she's saying she's in the same situation me and my dad have been, at a $25,000 per year income

Now, she's telling me, its the $700 in child support that is killing her. So she's trying to convince me to move back with her, which I wouldn't do unless I was put at gunpoint. She's telling me it would get both her and my dad out of debt if I was with her for a year. I would rather be poor then do this though.

So what I'm thinking is, I can do this myself. If I were to sell all of my domains, and cancel my hosting, I'd have enough cash to not have to ask my parents for stuff for a long time, and that would hopefully help them both.

So I gotta decide what to do. Please help me. NOTE that I don't want you posting if you just want to rip off a 15 year old kid by massively underpaying on domains.

If you're going to say get a job, my mom seeems to have my Birth Certificate and all the stuff I need to get a social insurance number and she seems to not want to give me them. Its as if she doesn't want me to work.

Personally, I kinda think she's screwing me over.

Demand the materials you need to go out and get a job.

Don't give up your hobby; be strong and talk things through with her and your dad.

I'd say live with her for a while ..and slowly start talking to her about a job and how uncomfortable you are to live with her, she will give in and give you the required stuff to get you start working...domaing takes time to make money out of.if u sell now profit will be negligible.do the wise thing work a normal job dont sell your domains..

You seem like you're much closer to your old man... have you talked it over with him? What'd he say about it?

To be honest... It sounds like she's conjuring up the money issues, she's probably just sick of sending your old man money every month (pure speculation - but i've been through/seen similar situations).

Noticing your "i wouldn't live with my mother unless i was at gunpoint" comment, I have to question why you're asking a bunch of total strangers for advice when it sounds like you've got your mind made up. You're 15... depending on local laws you may or may not be able to choose for yourself who you want to live with... if you can... stay with those you love. Life can be extremely short, it's important to at least allow yourself some happiness.

Is it court ordered support or just a number mom and dad came up with?

I hope this isn't a ploy to sell off some names.

Edit* - And regarding the ssn, birth cert. etc... that's probably information your mother is legally required to provide to you. Do you have any form of photo id? If you do... it's pretty easy to get a copy of your birth cert printed.
