I got:
- Chocolate
- £50 from relatives
- Books:
- The Picture of Dorian Gray
- The Lair of Bones
- Sons of the Oak
- Worldbinder
- Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code
- Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony
- Nation
- The Supernaturalist
- Two Caravans
- Blood of the Fold
- Stone of Tears
- The Discworld collector's edition 2009 calendar
- Some shaving stuff
I then spent half of my Christmas money on new books - naturally, I had never heard of these books before entering Waterstones, and never intended to get them; I buy books from Amazon when I know the name of the book, and use Waterstones to find new books. I bought:
- Mister B. Gone
- The Children of Hurin
- The Gargoyle
I have added them to my database of books, which I started on Wednesday (and still doesn't have all of my books in), so I can keep track of them if I lend them to people, I think having a database of my books is a good idea, and wish I'd thought of it sooner, so I didn't have to enter over 200 books in relatively short succession.
I have been accused of reading too much.
edit: And now I have spent the rest of my Christmas money, and received some books from my dad (so I shall undoubtably find them very boring). The books I chose are:
- Gothic!
- The Eye of the World
- The Great Hunt
- The Name of the Wind
The books he chose are:
- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
- Life of Pi (this one actually sounds ok...)
- Trainspotting
- Porno (not what you think; it's about a broke man trying to make money by directing a pornographic film)
I'm not sure what I'll do with all of these books... I now have received, in total, 22 books this Christmas. Consider that I intend to buy two or three books a month, and now have about 250; I'll end up with a lot of books. My mum tells me I should use the library more and just borrow books.
