I read something about 4-letter .coms/.nets and that got me to thinking about a domain I own: GERB.net. The way I see it: It's not a bunch of random letters that needs a good acronym to make this domain valuable. It's blindingly easy to say (it doesn't require imagination -- and it's 1 syllable), spell, remember, etc. and it's highly brandable, with 4 quality letters. The .net hurts a little but not much, compared to .info, .cc etc.

I don't see this as a $x,xxx domain but does early $xxx look realistic?

EDIT: I'd consider selling it if the price was right -- PM offers to me.

Any guesses? Mid $xx? Early $xxx?

It looks like you answered all your own questions. LOL :)

I would say about the samething you told yourself.

Brandable~Pronounable~4 Letter~.net Hurts it bad.

I would say $400 to an enduser.

How did I come up with $400 ? several .com's like that have sold for about $1,200 divded by 3 = $400 :)

But when I see and try to say the name, I think of Grub or try to say Grub ?

I'm thinking more along the lines of "gerbil"

lol I've been told that. Makes me think of 'garden' for some reason.

About 'answering my own questions,' I figured I'd tell ppl why I think it has value. I'm sick of ppl saying their 4-random-letter .net has value when, aside from acronyms, it has nothing to boast from.

I gave my 2 cents to see if ppl agree with me. I dunno if this is worth much but I picked it up for $25 and I just got to wondering... and I wrote the first post out as I had in hopes of amateur appraisers avoid the uneducated "reg fee" replies. :)

I want to know if this has any value... I was thinking early $xxx but evn $400 would be nice :)

Any thoughts from the rest of you?

I have it listed at SEDO for $250 min/ $500 BIN.

Think my prices are realistic?

I would say your prices are correct. It's not like you can find a pronouncable 4 letter domain every day. If you are looking for a fast sale, list it on ebay with a buy it now for $400 :)

I think I should :) I've made a few bad moves lately and I need to replenish my lost funds...

One more appraisal would be nice :)

Do you have any traffic on this site?

When I read GERB, I thought of GERBER (babyfood stuff). I'd say 250ish if no traffic; higher with traffic

my 2 cents

SEDO shows 13 uniques in a week but they might be from ppl who saw this thread, so I'm not thinking much of it.

I think $250 sounds fair. I want a quick sale of it... so I might put it on eBay.

I hate digging up old threads but SEDO has shown that it gets at least 123 uniques a month. To my knowledge, this has never been developed so I'm thinking the traffic might be type-in... that should increase the value a little, yet probably still not much.

Also: All major extensions are taken.

EDIT: It was developed long ago -- it's archive.org indexed.
