Hi have recently hand reg'd a geo domain name with the prefix of 'Geo' and suffix of " ? " ()com

The suffix sold for $1m last year and is a developed site,

it is a made up word.

There are no apparent conflicts with USTPO.

By way of comparison Geocities () com would be a fair likeness.

I plan on sitting on this one for quite a while and not developing it.

My question is - as the word is made up and unique, could the combination of the made up word with 'Geo' be subject to a UDRP?

Thanks

Freddie

ohio.com = geo domain
google.com = TM domain
ohiogoogle.com = TM domain

Seems like this is what you are itching at. A geo domain is just that, a location. By adding it to a TM, it is no longer a geo domain. Now, if the TM was descriptive. IE- ohiohotel.com, that is a geo domain for hotels.

Also, just because a tm isn't registered doesn't mean they won't or can't go after you... if it is a made up word,or a phrase they made, then likely they can claim tm if they can show it as 'in use in commerce'. At least thats what I understand... its called a common law tm.

Thanks for your comment, the name is also in use by an unrelated entity, not commonly known and more af an abreviation.

Could be be touch and go on this one

Thanks
