I found that namesilo are selling half times cheaper the domains than godaddy? Is it really reliable to buy from namesilo or should we stick to our trusted godaddy?

Which one is better to use for buying domains for reselling ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I use both but Namesilo works fine and is cheaper.

I prefer GoDaddy, as it is the most recognizable brand in the space, but it is a matter personal preference.

With membership of Godaddy Discount Club
you get pricing of -40% (lathough this is not also exactly the case some extentions don't give discount)) on the pricing of nearly every extention (also renewals) you have if you are not member.
You can become member for 1 year (I think 129 USD or 80 USD if is for 1 year => and use a code to become member (see godaddy code-thread here for such codes).
European members => TVA has to be payed here at GDD now. (certainly on membership of GDD-discountclub.

NameSilo is the best,
I think that GoDaddy is too expensive and is not user friendly (they should hire UX Experts :) )

I like Namesilo. I have already moved all my domains outta GD. Some are with Dynadot & Namebright, while max are with Namesilo.

Namesilo is the best. Plus, their marketplace is fantastic for selling domains. The transaction process is free of headaches.

This is not even a debut... namesilo is the best
Godaddy UI sucks and theyโ€™re way overpriced. Why would you chose them?

You have to think like an end user. Which brand would an end user be the most comfortable with completing a deal? One they have never heard of or one that they have heard of a thousand times. Would you be more comfortable buying from Amazon.com or from neverheardofbusiness.com?

I have thought about using Namesilo more but I always pause when I take the time to think like an end user.

Never did finish reading it, sorry but how many names stolen or incidents happening at Namesilo have we heard of compared to daddy?

Based on pure volume of names registered Godaddy would have more incidents reported.

I've only recently started using Namesilo, but in polls on here they are highly rated, including privacy free is a big plus, and their interface for both managing and finding domains are user friendly in my opinion. I REALLY like that Namesilo, more than other registrars, have consistently low prices, with consistently low renewal rates.

GoDaddy prices are less competitive (although they seem to give out 20% or 30% off to customers often which make them more competitive). One big advantage is though that they are so big and advertise so much everyone knows them, so a push to new owner there is more highly accepted.

Both GoDaddy and NameSilo qualify for fast transfer and getting on the Afternic premium network, if that is important to you.

I have used GoDaddy, NameSilo (only recently), Namecheap (a lot), Alpnames and Web Hosting Canada. To be honest, once used to them, I find all of them good. I use the TLD List to find the best deal on the extension I want.
