Garbage in - Garbage out! Chips crashing

So, where do we start?!

Well, for the beginners, why don't you have a look at the attached screenshot?

The so called Chinese Premium letter 4L.com are at the lowest for last 90 days and this time no excuse of Chinese new year.

This so called big Chinese investors have zero interest in playing it decent.

After grabbing tens of thousands names at $20-200, they pumped it to 3,000$ then lost interest in it letting it to crash to $1,800$ and counting, they, like bunch of locusts, moved to other asset classes for new pump and dumps, including 2-3-4 L, N .ws, 5L, 7N. They did not care how much they hurt 4L.com chips by starting new rumor of LNQRP being semi-premium (the whole point of premium is not being semi-premium), as long as they could bring some value to first 15 letters they could buyout first, now they need more suckers to grab those unwanted letter domains, about 350,000 remaining and once they'll find them (and they will find them), they'll pump up the prices, sell the premiumer ones they hold (patterns, 15 uber premiums etc.), then the locusts are off to the next field and you can hold your babies.

The Chinese are going through a liquidity crunch. Global confidence is collapsing. I can supply sources if needed but in general I read a lot of "doom and gloom" financial news sites

@frank-germany Lol it's the avg that has the most meaning. Draw green arrows on the SUB 1800 domains and see who has more arrows.

FB.Com sold 8m, must mean all 2l are worth that.

What about tggz.com at $1765?

You cannot simply select highest sales, that defies the point of "floor", i.e. price at which all domains fitting the class could be sold within short period of time.

Why don't we take fund.com and beer.com prices and come to conclusion that all pronounceable LLLL.coms are worth over $1M?

its about collecting facts
and highlights are proving "no collaps"

focus is always sujectiv

you could have bought a chip at $250 USD / $1100 USD or $1600
in the last 14 days
depending on your luck

that doesn't prove collaps either

pswr.com just sold for $1578 at godaddy.

Don't know if it was an auction or expired but if an auction - 20% commission and a long wait to get paid and you're left with around $1300 or so net.

ssnq.com sold for $1719 today as well, hardly anything to get excited about. bwcb.com, great chinese letters and decent pattern sold for 11,011 RMB - $1691

Not great prices despite the occasional good sale today I think its fair to say!

There is a pronounceable LLLL.com bought on auction by a fellow NP member for around $2K few weeks ago, I offered double of that and got a reject. Is that somehow indication that now all pronounceable LLLL.coms are worth $4K?

So what's the new 4l chip "floor"? Somebody should start a site called "dailyfloor.bottom" and fwd dailyfloorbottom.com to it. Just scrape chaomi.cc and run it through google translate. :)

ps I have no idea if .bottom really exists.

4l.com chips are now at 10,888 RMB - $1674 today at time of writing, down another 5.91%. I guess the next question is do prices dip below 10k RMB or not. We're going to find out soon I guess.

I feel really sorry for investors who bought in at $2.5k+ each.
I hope for those investors that prices recover again soon.

One positive piece of news, zpcb.com is at godaddy expired auction at $2276 right now which is way above the current floor. A few other decent sales are happening on other marketplaces like namejet as well.

floor as reported by chaomi is

$1 753 USD - 11388 yuan

which means lowest sale of today
but there is a sale of 16000 yuan as well = $2459 USD

a crash is something very different

Not true, the lowest sale so far today was kfqh.com for 10,888.
It is the second most recent sale reported there. TXKN.com sold for 11,000 RMB.

Yes the floor updated to go back over 11k RMB but for a while it was below that.
It is hard to see this is as anything other then a crash. 30 days ago the floor was close to 16,000 RMB.

Each to their own!

I just bought a 4l.com super premium chip for $1.5k USD

when you look a little closer to the data
you can see several sales have exact same price and sales date

so somebody is buying in bulk
and having better prices

buy cheap - sell high

now its time to buy cheap

I try to connect with as many Chinese domain brokers/investors on social media. I have noticed a very popular trend with Chinese investors lately, I keep hearing talk about 'Ethereum'. This investment is extremely popular right now on their crypto trading exchanges. Word spreads fast in the investment community thanks to social media, and they are experiencing an explosion in price. (Many believe that Ethereum will be more successful than Bitcion)

IMO- I think investors are simply following the trends and allocating more funds towards the quick & easy money(currently Crypto-Currencies). Which means they are allocating less funds for domains(currently plateauing or declining in value)

Makes sense.

It is obvious that they have moved on to other things for the time being.

Just about every chinese market has gone down substantially in recent months and even the 5l.com chip buyout pretty much stopped dead since the end of February. I have spoken to a ton of big investors who all said March should be a great month and so far it simply hasn't happened, interesting to see if it will pick up later this month.

As mentioned I think they may return when prices are appealing enough to buy back in but there's no sign of it happening yet IMO. Things can change fast though so watch this space IMO.

Chips crashing ???? I don't think that.
I am still receiving offers for my 4L.com Chips for $2,000 each.
According to llllsales.com and from 1 Mar. 2016, there are 102 4L.com Chips sold for $199,962.
$199,962 รท 102 domains = $1960 average sale price per domain.

I find it strange that people were fine quoting Chaomi prices when they were going up, but now it is suddenly not good enough. It was not perfect then, it is not perfect now, but it gives ok indication of trend.

Right now it shows 11,350, about 30% below the peak...

Other chips are doing even worse...

.Net has lost almost 50%. I did write at the time that 1/6 of .com price for .net is not sustainable and either .com was to go up 2+ times or .net crash was imminent.

Now, it is around 1/10 and kind of ok, although could go to 1/15 level as well...
