I would develop it first. It doesn't have much value unless game ltd is a company that exists in the UK that would want to buy it.

Put loads of affilliate banners for consoles etc. Play.com have an affilliate scheme. List the top 10 games for each console / PC with links to buy them.
Once it gets in the search engine it should generate some traffic.

Check out (Commission Junction or Affilliate Window). These companies have many big companies on their books and supply the banners (you just insert the text into your site).

Hope this helps

Arthur ;)

The company has been registered with Companies House since 1997.

They were previously called Wakezone Ltd and changed to Game Ltd.
There is also another based in Northern Ireland.

Not sure how a copyright would work there.

They don't appear to have a website but I haven't done anymore than a google search.

Like I said before, I would develop it and generate some income before contacting any companies (They may come to you).

Remember, all the other extensions are available other than .com so it's not that unique.

Hope this helps

I think any big company would think of Game.co.uk, Game.net, Game Limited, Game the big UK retailer, all one and the same entity, and would be too concerned to register gameltd.co.uk for fear of getting sued. Registering a UK company of the domain doesn't offer much legal protection and putting up affiliate links to other game companies would be like a red rag to a bull.

If the UK company Game didn't already exist this domain would still be worth very little. Nobody wants "ltd", "plc", "limited" etc after their keyword unless it's the only thing they can reg. Regging something that might get you sued and then registering a company of the same name to try to back it up is foolhardy.

A couple of Chinese domainers who presumably monitor UK company formations have registered Gameltd.com and Gameltd.cn in case your domain protection company takes off and you want to buy the .com or expand into China.

Sorry but whoever told you that was probally being nice. It has very little value. Sorry. And there is the risk of tm issue if someone else is using it
