Future of LLL .Net's

Hello, As you may know the rise in value with the 3 letter .coms has been huge from being able to pick up one for just over $1k half way through last year to not being able to pick one up for under $3k.
I was wondering if you feel this will be the same with the 3 letter .nets?
I am thinking of purchasing 10-15 3 letter .nets over the next month or so and was wondering what others thought of the investment.
The names will be used for a University fund hopefully i will sell before doing so (2 years time) and hopefully make a few $$.
Also i will be registering a business and putting down the sales which will also entitle me to a uni fund of $9k a year over 4 years which is another good point of down this now.
What do you think should i buy 10-15 .nets or 3-5 .coms?

welll, yes the value will increase over time but it can decrease too since no one can predict the future. Buying maybe 5 good LLL.net would be a good idea rather than buying 15 ....

I don´t think the value of .net will decrease but with the raise of .us and .info do I not think 3 letter .net prices will raise as much as .com has done the last years. As mentioned can it be a good to idea to buy 5 good .net compared to 15 random.

3 letter .net domains have continued to grow in value, though the percentage growth has recently been slower than some other 3 letter extensions. 3 letter .org, .info and especially .us domains have all been appreciating at strong percentages (better than .net) and also tend to have lower barriers for entry (ie. they're not as expensive as your average 3 letter .net).

My money right now would be on buying 3 letter .us names...I find they have the best trends for growth and possible end-user sales (which is the factor that really drives the prices of 3 letter domains). 3 letter .info are attractive too...and for many of the same reasons.

Morgan, I wish you good fortune in your venture into 3 letter domains. Very few people have ever lost money on 3-letter domains, with most making great returns year over year.

Very true. I see a great future in 3 letter .info domains, and I would personally invest in that area.

The choice here maybe is between purchasing a fistful of .info/.net OR 4 .com names for your portfolio. I would rather recommend go with the smaller blue-chip .com purchase.

Found the following .info sales posted on NamePros. The following prices are the highest posted so I can´t say what they were actually sold at.

lcd.info $1500
kgb.info $250
700.info $500

Guess the average price will be much lower since the ones posted are premium 3 letters.

3 letter .info domains might be a good option for you. The resale prices is currently way below .net and seems to have caught the attention of many serious domainers and end users.

Some of the prices LLL.net go for at Snapnames astounds me. It seems to be only a handful of buyers too (mentioning no names here). Sales prices are getting in the thousands (even for those with some sub-premium letters). You often see them up for sale on Afternic the day after....

I tend to think alot of these drop sales prices are a little inflated however.
