yea, I didn't get stamps either, I still don't get it now :P

To explain #2 it means
the envelope is shaped like this

|..................................................|
|_________________________|
S is where the stamp is, now, it remains in ONE (globe) of the envelope, but it can travel to ANYwhere on the glove(earth)
