Hi there, in order to figure out where the problem is with your connection to the server, we would need to know what the FTP server address you are trying to connect to... such as ftp.YOURDOMAIN.com or an IP address like 64.246.11.52
Do you have that information handy?
Next question: Are you able to visit your own site? The reason I ask is because if you can't even visit your own site, or check email, or connect via FTP, there is a possibility that either your IP address is blocked, or there is a problem between your location and the server.
If you perform a "Trace Route" to the server and provide the output, we can surely help you determine where the issue lies.
Here is some info from our forums on
how to run a traceroute in case you have never done it before... Hope it helps! I look forward to an update from you so we can help further!

where r my ftp files saved to and how do i make them my homepage please help thanks
Usually it would be in a public_html, httpdocs, or 'www' folder... Depends on your web host. Usually they provide those details to you in a welcome email when you signed up. You might have to ask them to provide those facts to you. And yes, as mentioned here you would have to name your home page to a default like index.htm or index.html or index.php or default.htm etc. depending on what the server is configured to look for in that folder.
